The next re-recorded album has just been announced, but we have yet to see any new merch for it. Hopefully it will be soon.

I saw a screenshot of somebody’s tweet earlier that said they hope red scarves are a part of the merch collection. YES PLEASE. Even better, a collab with a makeup company to release her own signature red lipstick.

I think she's going to drop either some merch or the vinyl soon because she put the merch from the other eras back on her site today.

I think she's going to drop either some merch or the vinyl soon because she put the merch from the other eras back on her site today. They’ve always been on there, you just had to navigate to it by using a search engine or use the urls to look at the different collections. I think I noticed the website was sort of back to normal (with links to the different era merch on the homepage of it) yesterday or the day before. I think they maybe just want to show old merch is still available to purchase. They might’ve had a little dip in sales since people think they can’t buy anything.

It'd be different maybe if it was the physical edition and you got something special with it. I just don't really understand why they had only the 'RED (Taylor's Version)' digital album on the homepage as the only thing and that's it. I doubt it made a difference in sales in making people want to pre-order it. It very much felt like she just needed to announce it and get it over with. I don't know if she even planned to do it at this time but she saw everyone thinking '1989' was coming next. (But I still believe '1989' could be surprise released this summer.) They did the same thing for the weird digital autographed 'Evermore' albums where they were the only things available on the online store and then they changed it back to the regular home page a few days after that. It didn't make too much of a difference like with this announcement of 'RED (Taylor's Version)'.

I'm starting to wonder if the reason Taylor hasn't put the RED vinyl for sale yet is because she's trying to close the gap between when the product goes for sale and when it can actually get into customer's hands. Like the Fearless (tv) vinyl went for sale the day she announced the album but the vinyl still isn't expected to ship until September. I wonder if she's trying to get the vinyl production done first before announcing it. Also the ones that are exclusive to her website are made in France (the 8 folklore ones and the opaque evermore one specifically). I wonder if with the evermore release she was able to the transparent ones done quicker (as they were made here in Canada) and so she's weighing the options of whether to make these ones in France again. Also I can't help but wonder if she's having issues with Target. With the album being called RED, I'm sure she'd want the album to be the corresponding colour. However Target sort of has a corner on the market when it comes to red-coloured vinyl. I have a feeling that if she partners with Target again there will be a Target red vinyl and she'll offer one on her website that's like a burgundy or cranberry colour or offer another transparent one. If she wanted to get creative she could do something similar to what Paramore did with their "All We Know Is Falling" vinyl and do paint splatters (like red, blue, dark grey) but I think for how backlogged production is, she may want to do something she can put out before Christmas. Even so it would be cool! This is the Paramore record I'm referring to if anyone is wondering Ironically they also have a transparent red vinyl for this album too

But it's also weird how there has been absolutely no advertising for 'RED (Taylor's Version)'. It's like she announced it and was like "here you go, you rats" so she got it over with. It's like the opposite of how she advertised 'FEARLESS (Taylor's Version)'. I don't know what the reason for that is. I personally think '1989 (Taylor's Version)' could still be released this summer by surprise, but I'm not sure. I just kind of wish Taylor would release more vinyl records and different variations. They're fun to collect (as long as you can get them of course). She hasn't had many limited edition ones or ones sold through stores. I'd like to see her offer different variations from different retailers, but she's only stuck to 'Target'. Some artists have vinyl records from stores like 'Walmart', 'Target', 'Barnes and Noble', 'Urban Outfitters', etc. I'm praying for signed 'FEARLESS (Taylor's Version)' albums in August to go along with the vinyl records being released. I really hope there will be signed 'RED (Taylor's Version)' albums too when the vinyl records for it are ready. Maybe they will have it out before Christmas. It's all so confusing to think about and the reasons why Taylor announced it and there's such a big gap of time until the time it's going to be released. I also wonder why she hasn't sold any signed vinyl records at all. She could've made a killing with sales if she was willing to sign different 'Folklore' and 'Evermore' vinyl records. I'm dreaming of them having a sale before Christmas where there are vinyl records for maybe $50 USD each at the most, and there being vinyl records signed for all of her owned albums so far - 'Lover', 'Folklore', 'Evermore', 'FEARLESS (Taylor's Version)', and 'RED (Taylor's Version)'. I've been thinking about vinyl records more lately. It gives me anxiety how many vinyl reocrds there are out there. I'd love to collect ones I think that are different colors, but it gets expensive. Until now I only ever thought of collecting vinyl records from the artists I really love, but part of me is almost wondering if I'd be interested in collecting some different colors ones just for the heck of it. I don't know...It just gives me anxiety to think about all the options and variations, and seeing people collecting them online from lots of different artists makes me wonder if I should too...I've also been thinking about possibly getting a vinyl record player finally. I've just been collecting records and keeping them all sealed. Of course part of me would like to see what the vinyl records look like, and I usually try to buy two copies anyways like I'd keep one sealed. But my OCD has kept me from opening one at all yet. If I were to open some, I wonder which one I should open first as my first officially opened vinyl record. My first vinyl record was 'Speak Now' in 2011 I think and I will always remember that. It was for sale on her online store and I didn't have any vinyl records yet but I wanted it because it was Taylor.

I think record collecting can be a dangerous hobby because a little bit is never enough, your collection is never complete and the price of records isn't exactly going down. Personally I open all my records. I buy them to listen to them. Some people buy them just to collect them or resell but I feel like records should be enjoyed. I think the first records I got were a Patsy Cline one and Queen one. I got them from a record store. After that it was Phil Collins, Amy Winehouse, Alanis Morrisette and Van Halen and it's just grown from there.

I think I’ve realized I have an addictive personality so it’s easy for me to go overboard on things easily like in terms of collecting things. It’s like it’s never enough. So I have to try to keep myself in check when I notice myself feeling like that. I don’t want to be that way but I guess it’s something in my brain that makes me that way sometimes, like my anxiety and (sometimes) OCD. I’m just glad and proud of myself (as hard as it is to admit) that I never got into alcohol or drugs. I could very easily be an addict since I have an addictive personality. I have a hard enough time some days limiting what I drink in terms of soda/pop because I’m addicted to ’Coke’. The drink, not the drug.

Addiction runs in my family too so I try to be very careful and know where my limits are but, it’s hard sometimes.

Time to revive this thread because the 'RED (Taylor's Version)' physical CD (explicit and clean versions) have been added to Taylor's online stores today. I wonder when there will be new merch. I'm shocked she didn't release a small collection of stuff with the album cover on it the day that she announced it like she did for 'FEARLESS (Taylor's Version)'.

So I do not understand them being finicky and uptight about when to release a pre-order for it. They were weird about the 'Evermore' vinyl record too. You'd think they would want more pre-orders so they have a better idea of how many need to be made. But they only had it available for a little in December then it sold out and didn't come back for a while. But the 'FEARLESS (Taylor's Version)' vinyl record was available for pre-order for a lot longer time. And now for 'RED (Taylor's Version)' it's the complete opposite and the picture of it hasn't even been released.

I like the CD disc photos, I wish that "RED" was printed on the album cover. I don't particularly care for the new direction artists are going for with no name on the front cover. It works for some albums, but it's kind of like song titles being put in lower case... it was interesting when only a few artists didn't capitalize properly, but now that everyone is doing it it's just a bit silly. It's honestly difficult for me to remember not to capitalize folklore and evermore song titles :laughs: (and yes I know that her ring says RED, but I've always liked how bold it was on the original album and I remember her saying how much she had to fight for the font)
