I’m kind of pissed off with my work right now. A lot of other stores are giving their employees $200-$300 dollar bonuses for working through the pandemic and my store is only offering a 30% discount on 1 purchase up to $400. So I still have to spend my money at my store. It’s such a rip off. My company is owned by the 4th richest man in the country. You’d think they’d be a little less greedy! What do I know? That sounds about right. As long as the higher up's are paid well, who cares about the regular people, right? This is the same with 'Instacart', yet I got nothing. They were giving people $50- $500 and I didn't even get $50. You had to do so many orders in the year and so many in December and I was a bit under what was needed in December. I expect nothing less from them anyways. The richest companies are always the greediest.

Work has become a big problem over the last three years. It’s tough to be in such an environment if you’re honest (and autistic). The political games and hidden agendas are a real pain. I stayed away from drama last year, but I got screwed for it anyway in my evaluation. I’ll probably need to have a talk with my boss soon. But it’s hard to decide what I can say and what is not done. Telling him I don’t trust him yet and I don’t trust our director at all, is probably not what he wants to hear.

I'm really scared about work this week. Last week my store was quiet. This week will not be the case. Media is reporting that Ontario could be facing a curfew for 8pm which means that people are going to come in my store in hordes and start panic shopping this week. Even if they don't set the curfew, people will still come in and it'll be like March all over again (except this time, people just don't care and will be breaking rules and disrespecting us all over again). People are constantly either complaining to me about the virus or just talking about it and I know not everyone does so with malicious intent but my brain just goes into bars and tone when they do. I can't process it or go into my feeling about the virus or even talk about it. It's too much. It's so awful and it's too much.

My state locked down after being reopened for a few months, when they announced the new shelter-in-place there wasn't nearly the same pandemonium as in March. People are used to Covid life now, it wasn't a shock like it was at first.
I feel you though, when we were open every single guest who crossed my path would go "Oh, it's so nice that you're open". And every single time I would think to myself "Yeah... Lovely"

So today, I’m the only one bringing out groceries for the curbside pick-up department. On a normal day this would be fine. Today, however, there is a blizzard which means I’ve been the only one bringing out groceries, pushing a cart through 5cm’s of unploughed snow. Needless to say, I’ve gotten my exercise. 2 1/2 more hours to go!

I have someone I live with that if they got COVID they will DIE. They are very at risk so this minimizes any risk that either of us has to take. Though to be fair I think I actually had it earlier this year albeit maybe a milder form. I know it’s a blizzard and o hope you stay safe. Thank you again!

There’s actually very little I have to complain about. I found the place I can probably retire from. I’m about to be 30 and I’ve found a job I LOVE to go to every day. I’m very blessed.

I applied for a couple jobs, within 24 hours they both sent me a "Thanks but no thanks" email. At least they were quick about it?
