I applied for a couple jobs, within 24 hours they both sent me a "Thanks but no thanks" email. At least they were quick about it? Ouch. Don’t take it too personal.

Currently dealing with a guy being heavily passive aggressive towards me at work. Love it when old men take the opportunity to single out the one young female at the company!

Don’t give him the time of day. If you remain unaffected they’ll leave you alone and if they don’t leave you alone then go to HR.

Depends on which jobs you applied for, but many people are not happy working for Disney.

Depends on which jobs you applied for, but many people are not happy working for Disney. I was looking more for jobs in the production companies of Disney. Most of them turned me down cause I was Canadian. I didn’t apply for the parks.

Other people were picking up on the way he talks to me I think as well.

I had a job interview yesterday and it went really well. It's something that I think would be a great fit for me plus its full time and permanent (I've been working a part time relief job for about six months now so my hours really vary and thus my income varies). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for it buuuuut I will say that if I do get it, I'll be SUPER nervous for it because it's way more advanced than what I'm used to. I'm just afraid of the first little bit of the job being super difficult for me But idk the opportunity will be great still

I worked in retail for the longest time and people would be either super nice or very rude. There was no in-between I'm glad one of your brother's customers gave him a card for Christmas... that's so thoughtful!

I think something a lot of the people-pleasers like myself suffer is the internal conflict of whether to put yourself first, or others, and those higher up the scale, like managers or supervisors, or anyone really, will target us and try to walk all over us, because of our desire to keep the peace and keep things efficient. But last week I finally put my foot down over a conflict and they had no choice but to work in my favour. Tonight I also sent an email that was long overdue, without inserting unnecessary apologies. I think when you snap, you snap. But it's empowered me to stand up for myself more.

We think that keeping the peace will cause less (internal) conflict. But standing up for yourself results in the same or even less of a struggle. It’s better for us and hopefully will signal we won’t be messed with. But yeah, it’s easier said than done. Regularly I’m so overwhelmed it’s hard to give the appropriate response.

Our new department manager, number 12 in 17 years, is quite the character. He’s in that phase of trying out the handbook of management techniques. Unfortunately he thinks he’s in the military and his hierarchical position gives him the right to make decisions without a dialogue. During our weekly morning meeting he told the group it was the last meeting in that setting. He wants to do it differently. After someone asked what the new plan was, he revealed he didn’t have one yet

After someone asked what the new plan was, he revealed he didn’t have one yet Mm that type of leadership doesn't tend to go down very well. I always wonder how those types of places get anything productive done. Leaders need to realise it's the people doing the actual work that are the backbone of companies, and without their morale, the place can go downhill very quickly.
