I could just remove the censor and ask everyone not to sl*tshame each other but idk, it's risky. The censor for s*ut isn't as iconic as nuggets, but it's still nice. |

I keep the censors in place to make the website accessible for everyone. If there's excessive cussing on here it may stop some people from being able to join the site. I feel like I should keep the censor in place just for the time being. Like yeah it's the name of a song but it's still easily censorable. I think I might just change the censor to sl*t or literally change it so that it's the full song name so it can't be misinterpreted any other way. You know what, yeah, that's the best solution. This reply just gave mom the answer I needed. Thanks! |

There is really something about Illumination and its use of the songs from 1989. First, they used Welcome to New York in the intro of The Secret Life of Pets. Then, Reese Witherspoon and Nick Kroll performed Shake It Off in Sing. And now, they uploaded a version of the trailer for Migration featuring Out of the Woods (TSV) just a little over a week before the release of 1989 (TSV).

Confirmed. There will be a deluxe edition of the album, which includes the Kendrick Lamar remix of Bad Blood (TSV). Wonder what else will be included there? Sweeter Than Fiction (TSV), perhaps? |

The deluxe editions are the colored cd versions that were up for pre order some time ago and are currently again for some hours. |

Okay, after I listened to the whole album now, I think it's really weird, because I have the exact opposite problem that I have with all other re-recordings. For the first time, I think the re-recorded old songs are good and I would really consider to listen to them sometimes (or most of the times), but for the first time ever I think that the vault tracks are really boring and also not fitting the album. The only one that I don't find completely boring is Say Don't Go. I also think the vault tracks sound more like bonus songs of Midnights than songs for 1989  |

So... I am torn on a bunch of tracks personally.
To me Style was not served well in the re-release. I love that track so much and part of it felt like a karaoke track.
I AODRE style so I am going to be harsh.
1989 is a tough album for me because of the timeline with me and my ex.
Wonderland being included was so nice and New Romantics was fine.
I feel like some of the bite of the songs is gone now for me.
Of the vault tracks, Now That We Don't Talk was my fav, but I am not too keen on these vault tracks.
How You Get The Girl needs more love I was so happy with this recording.
Out of the woods both benefited, but also in parts was lessened this time around.
Blank Space was.... ok?
Overall I need more time with them all because 1989 is my RED when it comes to my personal timeline with she who will not be named.

I haven’t listened to all the songs yet, but I’m happy the album is pretty good. I was worried it would not come close to the original, since the original was so rich in music and the re-recordings are not great in that area. I agree with piratenovelist that it’s very noticeable with Style. The iconic opening riff got replaced with a weak electronic version. That’s really a blow to such a great song. Blank Space and You Are In Love are my favorite 1989 songs, so I was very curious to hear them. Blank Space is good, although I prefer the original. Taylor did a great job on You Are In Love. To me it’s the same high quality. A few little pros and cons to the original. |
