To talk about the re-released version of 1989 (when we eventually get it....).

Guys, I can't stop imagining how good Style will sound re-recorded. Especially now that she has healthier vocals! I wonder if she'll sustain the last "home" in the bridge

I’m looking forward to revisit 1989. On the other hand I’m a bit scared, because there’s not much to do other than copy such a flawless album. Changing things can only mess it up.

I stumbled upon the live performance of I Know Places. All the feelings from the 1989 World Tour came back. A completely packed arena. Every single Swiftie being amazed by what was happening in front of them (or behind them or above them). Overwhelming, beautiful, real connection. Doesn’t get any better than that!

Not every swiftie although I was listening to my new Reputation vinyl last night and I was feeling about it like you feel about 1989. I joked to a friend someone better give you a PSA to cope with my Reputation essays again. XD I will say I am interested in a re-recording of I Know Places because I think the intro is rather...annoying and it may enhance the song to sort of...reduce it. It has grown on me a little over time. I feel like I Know Places lyrically sort of precursors to some of the concepts in Reputation as a whole which is interesting. She has that tendency though, like on every album there's that one song that kind of sounds like it was an outtake production wise from the previous album (1989's "How You Get the Girl" is more relative to 22/WANEGBT pop, "Getaway Car" has the synth production of 1989, "Miss Americana" sounds like it belongs on Reputation, etc.) this is also a sign I listen to way too much Taylor when I notice all these lines LOL.

You would have loved it if you had been at the show, especially by my side. I mean: who doesn’t want that?! (Rhetorical question) Sometimes songs start not that great. But you’ll get over those few seconds when you hear the rest of the song. I loved the intro at the Tour with the riding doors. And yes, sometimes songs seem from another era. Dancing With Our Hands Tied could’ve been on 1989 too. That’s why I probably like that song so much. Best intro at the 1989 Tour was Blank Space. They had this amazing sound building up to the song. You could feel it in your body, the excitement building up. And then Taylor’s voice coming in in the dark. I hope they somehow use that unique intro for the re-recording.

Hm, I always wonder if artists think about this sort of stuff as to the tour ideas when they write the melodies. Like, is it meant to be a grand production? I never thought of that being on 1989. I feel the production isn't 80s synth enough. XD I absolutely love Dancing With Our Hands Tied and Don't Blame Me. Those are my favorites from Reputation. I just found the intro to I Know Places to not really be necessary or fit the song. I feel like you could keep the musical intro but remove the "I" repetition. I feel like soon I am gonna sit and revisit all of Taylor's albums in order and see where I end up. I don't think my feelings of worst or best will change as much as perhaps how I have perceived them over the years. The stories in them and all. I know 1989 seemed so magical but I had been listening to Taylor since I was like 9-10 years old, Rhinestone guitar and all, and 1989 was a huge shift for her musically, culturally, all that. some songs on 1989 grew on me years after, more from getting over the change. I really think songs like I Wish You Would could benefit from a different production. And I know how Fearless "TV" cut some of the overproduction from songs like You're Not Sorry so I think 1989 may become BETTER if this is gonna be the familiar trend. Finessing those spots. Taylor was trying something new here and some of the songs were amazing (like Wildest Dreams, New Romantics) and others I felt needed work musically (I Wish You Would, I Know Places). So I am seriously interested in how it all ends up...but considering my two favorite 1989 songs are on the Deluxe, I am MOST interested in any vault songs included as I may be screaming 1989 would have been perfect with a slightly different tracklist.

Sometimes the choices they make in production could be better. Personally I think she should’ve leftbout the “I” part. The music intro would’ve been enough. I don’t mind it that much. The “oh-oh-ooh-oh” from Out Of The Woods bugs me a lot more. I really hope she cuts that part off. For Wildest Dreams she made a little change for the music video. That was even better than the album version. And I sure hope she will do a good version of Bad Blood…without Kendrick Lamar. That was the only big mistake in the 1989 era. On a positive note, I’m looking forward to You Are In Love again. And there might be a few gems in the vault, because she made a lot of songs for 1989. I can imagine it was not easy for some Swifties to get used to 1989, especially the country fans. But the album has proven to stand the test of time.

I don't know if it really stood the test of time for me - I just as any Taylor album walk off with the ones I enjoy and try to ignore what I don't. Bad Blood is actually one of the 1989 songs I actually like - but I absolutely hated that Kendrick Lamar remix. It was not fitting for it at ALL. I didn't like the music to You Are in Love - so it is actually one of my less liked 1989 songs in the vein of some others. I have this issue with 1989 where some of the songs such as You Are in Love have good lyrics but I think the music and melody is a disaster and take away from the song. I'd love a guitar acoustic version of it, I think it'd be better.

Acoustic guitar was nice for the sing along at the Tour. But for an album you really need the in dept music.

I don't enjoy a lot of extremely slow synthpop style things. I prefer these sort of things strummed or something, even played on an actual piano ballad. Synths don't fit with that slow of a tempo. and the melody is so broken to keep with the slowness that it takes AWAY from the song. The bridge is one of the most beautifully written things she has done but that music was a choice. bleh. XD
