It's becoming really disheartening heading into the hardest part of the year anyway without anything to look forward to. It's normally ok because you can look forward to Spring and Summer, but who knows what those seasons are going to be like? Who knows if I'll be able to see my friends, most of whom I haven't seen in a year or more?

It’s beyond sad. In several cities there were riots during night time. Lots of stuff got vandalized. Stores were smashed and robbed. The police and even reporters were attacked. And to top it off they burned down a Corona test location and even tried to smash windows of a hospital... They should let the people who got arrested scrub toilets of elderly homes and hospitals until the pandemic is over. Or just throw them in prison for 5 years to let them know how serious their offense is and to set an example for others trying to riot.

And that's just for quarantine violators. www.thejakartapost.com/news/2020/04/21/indonesia-locks-virus-violators-in-haunted-house.html

They don't want the shutdown, but destroy test statiions and hospitals? If they do so the loockdown will be even longer because they can't handle the situation as good as tey can now.

People like that don’t think. They are like animals, only acting on emotions. And of course there’s a certain group using this to rob stores and get some extra stuff...

Relatively good news: things have calmed down a bit. The first rioters are already convicted. Some even got prison time. And they confiscated cars and froze bank accounts to literally let them pay.

Numbers are finally going down a bit. The curfew probably helps. But... instead of keeping this up until we’re in safe territory again, next week they will reopen schools... And curfew will probably be gone. And they will allow people to pick up ordered goods from stores at the door... Chances are high this will lead to a third wave...

It all depends on how much vaccines several producers can deliver.

But numbers are going down here since one week, the lockdown finally works.

If you think that's slow, we're still waiting for the first 100,000+ doses to come here in my country by the middle of this month, at the earliest.

But the Biontech/Pfizer one is developed and produced here in Germany, and that's why many people say it is slow. I personally think you can't be faster than you can produce that stuff. The entire world wants some of it and you can't produce enough for the whole world in just one month.

All factories are producing 24/7 and external companies are already helping with bottling and logistics. I think it’s fair to give a lot of countries vaccines, even if that means individual countries have to wait longer. It’s already a miracle that they developed a vaccine in a year. Especially Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna have a great vaccine. Today I used an FFP2 mask for the first time. They distributed them at work. It’s quite uncomfortable, but it protects well.

How is the FFP2 different from the N95?

How is the FFP2 different from the N95? It’s similar. But it’s a big difference to regular medical masks or cotton facemasks.
