In Germany it's still rising and the deaths too. This week there was a day with more than 1000 people died in 24 hours for the first time

It’s quite surreal when you do everything you can to prevent the virus from making people sick and spreading. You assume people stay home and especially don’t travel with the more contagious British version of the virus. But then you turn on the TV and the police needs to break up rave parties in several places. Or people are in massive lines to go skiing. And to top it off: British tourists refuse to quarantine in Switzerland...

We are currently banned from entering Switzerland (as we are most of the world) but I think people are just fatigued and stopped caring.

I really don't understand people who are living life as usual. Okay fine people are selfish and don't care about spreading it around but you'd think people would care about their own self preservation. Even if I thought the virus was a hoax or if I thought I'd have less than 1% chance of dying from it I would still be cautious because I don't want to take the chance of dying. And even if you don't die you could be left with permanent lung damage. This has got to be some form of mental illness on mass display to not care about your own well being. I remember early on this lady was on the news and she said she hoped her son would get Covid soon so he could hurry up and become immune from it. Like she didn't even care about her kid. If you don't care about yourself you should at least care about your kid.

I always think if people would jump from the top of a skyscraper, only to land on a tiny 2x2 metes big spot that is safe, if they don't hit the target, they're dead or extremely hurt (forever), I don't think people do, but they do the same with the virus when they lie like everything is as always.

It’s puzzling, but there are probably two mindsets that contribute to this: 1. “It won’t happen to me, it’s only the others who get seriously ill and die” 2. “I can’t possible give up any of the things I normally do. I need to shop, travel, have a bbq with my entire family, go drinking with my friends”. Just the other day some Youtuber went to Vegas with his wife. He was proud the rooms in the hotel were dirt cheap and they had the place all to themselves...

He was proud the rooms in the hotel were dirt cheap and they had the place all to themselves... people with both of those train of thoughts are delusional. I have a similar YouTuber story. This doomsday prepper guy I followed he was an older guy with heart problems. He made a video where he was basically bragging about how many people he had over for Thanksgiving and how he pretty much didn't care about Covid. A couple of days ago his wife made a video about how the whole family had Covid and that he ended up dying. Now she's mad that people are blaming him for his own death.

Lockdown is probably going to be extended until February 8th. We might get more restrictions. It would probably be best to just lock things down strictly without an end date and only come back to it if the situation is good enough to loosen restrictions. It’s not likely things will better until the weather improves significantly. To be honest: there are too many loopholes in the measures. You really need to be firm and treat people like 5 year olds. I would not be against being a police state for a while. 80% are suffering too long for the 20% of people that don’t want to learn.

Yesterday I watched a report about elderly homes dealing with Corona. Today I watched a report about mentally disabled people in Corona times. It’s heartbreaking. It’s probably a good idea to shove that in the face of people not taking this seriously.

Here in the Philippines, we're now experiencing a post-holiday spike in cases. And that's despite having a government mandate to wear both a face mask and a face shield at the same time in public places.
And now, we have reinstated travel bans especially on travelers from Europe, US, and even our neighbors, when the new variant came.

Starting Saturday we’re getting a curfew. Nobody is allowed to go outside between 9 pm and 4:30 am. There are exceptions. People who need to work are allowed to go to work with a permit from their employer. And of course for emergencies. Sadly they also allow people to walk their dog. That’s ridiculous. There’s plenty of time to do it before and after the curfew. Actually they should just let the dog do it in the living room. That way dog owners finally learn that you shouldn’t pollute a living environment with filth. Especially not public space where you force your filth on decent citizens On a serious note: it will be tough to get people to follow the rules. It’s always the same group of people that doesn’t obey. Police already said they can only focus on offenses on a larger scale.

Here in my country, at least in my province, curfew used to be between 8:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M., but now, it's between 10:00 P.M. and 4:00 A.M., subject to only a few exceptions. Anyone going outside to buy supplies and medicine must secure a quarantine ID. Minors and people over 65 years of age are prohibited to leave their homes.

Yeah, politicians argued about the starting time. 8 pm was planned, but the opposition had to go against it. It’s silly. You’re only giving people an extra hour to go visit others.

My province FINALLY will lift the stupid shopping rules tomorrow. Now we can buy whatever we need or want to in a store. It should've been lifted right after Christmas.
