Finally had the courage to ask for the girl I like for her number she did share it with me, but now focused on trying to build a friendship with her.

If you want to be in a relationship with her then be forward with it so you don't waste your time if she's not interested in you in that way.

Getting to know each other is different than building a friendship and hoping for more. You can waste years hoping, for nothing.

If you ever want to be more than friends you've gotta ask at the beginning. I know for my girl friends and I we don't like when a guy pretends to want to only be friends when they really want a relationship. It feels disingenuous and that's off putting

Yeah I do want to be in a relationship at some point, but I’m not even close yet I have a lot of growing up to do. I asked for her number because I felt like that’s the best way to get to know her better, but like I said it does not matter as I said from the outset there is no way this girl will like me back.

JD, no one you date will be perfect so you can grow together. Maybe she was interested in you but you came across as only wanting to be friends so she lost interest. That's why you have to be direct with your intentions. And if she wasn't interested in you just pursue other girls.

I’m pretty sure this girl never had an interest in me again as I said from the outset why would she? There is nothing attractive about me. In addition to that I’ve got many friends in my life that have always told me to build friendships first and that’s what has helped them have successful dating relationships.

Don’t blame this on yourself. There’s nothing you could’ve done differently to change the outcome. Relationships are like rolling dice until you find a matching pair. There’s no use to blame one or the other number if they don’t match. Just roll again if you feel like it and hope for the best

You need to build your confidence up. You have to be able to find what's attractive about you. It's impossible for it to be nothing. I'm just warning you that you don't want to waste time getting friendzoned. It's good that worked for yours friends but it's not an efficient use of your time.

That’s exactly why I don’t think I’m anywhere near being ready for a relationship because I have absolutely no self confidence. For the time being I just need to chill I’ve allowed myself to grow far too attached to this person and I need to allow those feelings to die down to an extent. Maybe in a month or two I’ll ask her out on a gate and go from there.

Check out this Youtube channel: www.youtube.com/c/TeachingmensfashionThey have a lot of video's about appearence/ confidence/ style. Really useful to work on yourself, both physical as mentally, to gain self confidence.

I was talking to her today for a few minutes and she asked me how I was feeling because last time we talked over text I told her I had not been doing great. Today I told her I’ve been feeling down and discouraged because of my mental health issues particularly anxiety along with depression.
I shouldn’t have told her that because I don’t think I should be talking about my mental health issues with her. That was just stupid and I really need to learn how to not talk about that kind of stuff with her or anyone else outside of my close friends.
