S H O O K https://www.instagram.com/p/BqXgDJBlz7d I thought this was going to be a post about how excited she was to play the last 2 shows of the reputation Stadium Tour but I WAS WRONG. Actually a little sad she’s no longer with Big Machine. Man, the old Taylor really is dead, rip. :c

I can't believe she switched record labels...It makes me sad honestly...
I understand her wanting to grow even more but it's sad how she left what she's known for 10+ years. Her and Scott Borchetta built an empire together. Scott Borchetta annoys me a little as he seems to be greedy to me and has all this money now because he picked Taylor, but it's still sad she won't work with the record label anymore. I wonder if there really was tension at the record label like I've heard.

It's the end of an era... I wasn't looking forward to her decision when I heard that she would have to renew something or start something new for her chosen record label. I knew I would probably inevitably be sad with her decision that I knew was probably to branch out to something new.

I would have been okay with her making her own label or something, but I don’t like her leavin Big Machine. Also takes away my hope for country next era... but who knows...

There's going to have to be changes on her CDs now...I thought of this immediately after the news came out that she'd have to choose her record label soon. All of her CDs have a 'Big Machine' records logo on the back of it and now they'll have to switch it to whatever this new record label is...

I don't know. She got UMG to agree to alot of things with this deal. A larger chunk of their Spotify sales profit will be going back to the artists and Taylor will now also own everything she records with them instead of them owning her recordings.

I guess it’s good for business, but it feels wrong when it comes down to Taylor and Big Machine Record’s connection. She was the first artist on that label.

Big Machine still owns and distributes all her albums from Debut to Reputation. That doesn't leave the label with her, its all still owned by BMLG and I believe she may still get a percentage from whatever they make off of her albums.

I guess Big Machine couldn’t offer the things Republic Records UMG could offer her. Taylor probably got a sweet deal out of this. I would’ve liked for her to get her own label, but maybe it’s too soon or not what she wants. In a way I expected her to join a bigger label. What annoys me a bit, is that this is the same label Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Lorde and The Weeknd are with. On the other hand the label also has some good and nice artists: Pearl Jam, 3 Doors Down, Godsmack and Stromae.

Like when she was with BMLG, she was with Rascal Flatts, Danielle Bradbery, Reba, but on the other hand so was Steven Tyler. So really it's all on taste there and what you like as an individual. Not that it will have any kind of affect on her music or theirs. She may have considered starting her own label but there are alot more factors involved with that than just being a signed artist. There's a much bigger risk, plus the amount of money needed to just get off the ground and get running is way more than she may think is worth it. It's not easy to sign a deal and I would imagine it's harder still to build a new label from the ground up.
