Really? I never noticed that o.o probably because I hardly go on to that site but wow I never noticed that either......mostly because I bought my copy from Walmart and I don't look at what they have for sale online since I very rarely if ever order something online. They only linked to other shops like amazon.com, Walmart, Target and streaming services like Apple Music. Last time I watched if they sell them online (before today) was some times in april or something, there they still haven't sold them.

And they do have multiple labels under the UMG umbrella. And holy crap there are ALOT of labels in this umbrella. www.universalmusic.com/labels/Fun fact I just saw. Katy Perry, Halsey, Luke Bryan, 5SOS are all under this same umbrella. My heart just started pounding really hard and I got a little light headed thinking about a POSSIBLE TAYLOR SWIFT AND 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER COLLAB. I've thought about it before but I never thought it would happen. THIS GIVES ME A LITTLE HOPE!

But I do suppose the possibility is there.

You know I have to say that I was really shocked when I heard this announcement but I guess that I'm not too surprised that Taylor more or less said "thank u, next" to Big Machine.
I think in the grand theme of things, Scott Borchetta didn't really know how to handle Taylor as a pop artist and Taylor has been doing most of her writing and making Big Machine put it out whether they liked it or not. I think in a way she just outgrew Big Machine. I'm sure there's no bad blood between Taylor and Scott and if things ever go south with UMG she could go back to Big Machine but all in all, she has a deal that's helping smaller artists and by the sounds of it she still has full creative control over her music and now she owns her masters! I think only good things can come from this.

I kinda wish she could have worked out something with BMLG. She knows what Scott did for her. She didn't abandon them, just her contract ran out. She is super smart when it comes to the financial part of her being who she is. She now owns everything she writes, and sings. She owns the master copy of anything from here forward. Plus she is looking out for other artists in the Spotify deal. We just are seeing her go some where she has never been before. This is probably a good thing. Taylor knows what is best for her and us her fans. I have faith she is about to do great things!

i hear borchetta is thinking of selling big machine, so now i'm wondering if that was a factor in her deciding to leave the label...

It could be, there is always a little bit of uncertainty when the owner changes and many things can change in unpredicted ways. So I would consider something like that in my choices.

I forgot when I followed him on Twitter but there were already tweets back then on the topic of selling. I believe he said that if he believes it's what's best for BMLG and all the artists there, then he'll sell. But it hasn't happened yet. It's just a conversation that always comes up.

Unpopular opinion, but I think it's awesome that Taylor decided to leave. Change was bound to happen especially with Taylor being a top artist, I didn't expect her to stay with the record label she started out with. I don't know much about it, but I'm so glad that Taylor has been so taking so many big leaps this era. Now I'm just really, really excited for the next chapter, what with all this creativity and control she now has!

I wonder if Taylor’s new music will be on Spotify and all the day it comes out now...
