This is a follow up to a previously posted video. After a United Airlines Boeing 727 landed at Chicago Meigs Field it moved on to its eventual destination which was the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. The aircraft had to be moved over water and land before it arrived at the museum.

For aviation enthusiasts today is an important date in history. On December 17, 1903 Wilbur and Orville Wright demonstrated that human-powered flight was possible when their plane, the Wright Flyer, became air-borne in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Neat post Paul! January 31, 2023 marked the end of an era in the aviation industry. The final recently manufactured Boeing 747 left Seattle, Washington and flew to Cincinati, Ohio. The 747-8 was delivered to Atlas Air which is primarily a cargo carrier (picture below). Between 1967 and 2023 Boeing produced 1,574 of this aircraft. However, the airplane did not fly directly from Seattle to Cincinati. While flying over the state of Washington the jet assumed the role of a sky writing plane and it spelled out 747 over the Washington sky (second photo below).  |

I really enjoyed watching the crew of this Boeing 787 go through all of their checklists while preparing to fly from Montego Bay to Cancun. The takeoff roll down the runway is also awesome to watch!

This is a nice video taken from a Delta Airlines flight approaching and then landing in Toronto. It provides wonderful views of the city's skyline.

This is a nice video taken from a Delta Airlines flight approaching and then landing in Toronto. It provides wonderful views of the city's skyline. Billy Bishop is an itty bitty airport on Toronto Island. Most people use it only to go somewhere within the country. Usually if they need to go to Northern Ontario and don't want to drive 20 something odd hours. I don't know why anyone would need a flight from Billy Bishop to Pearson though. The train would probably be cheaper lol. I'd imagine the purpose of the flight was just to show off the plane and the views of Toronto. Though I do agree the city looks great, I think the view from the ferry that takes you to the island might be better.  |

I've never been to Chicago but I'm sure that's a fair comparison! I think both cities also double as New York in movies and TV shows. |
