I don't think Better Than Revenge is that bad. It was made before this wave of feminism and Taylor was pretty young. It's catchy. Some parts are cringy but the one I'm most curious about is Picture to Burn bc I'm pretty sure Taylor hates that song rofl (due to its original, homophobic lyrics). Anyway I am PUMPED about this. I don't really understand why. I'm just excited to relive the excitement and wonderment of Fearless.

I do notice I’m weirdly excited about this too. I have been listening to Love Story on repeat. What’s wrong with Picture To Burn? What did I miss?

I think she really dislikes BTR by now as well based on some stuff she said around her 'feminist awakening'. I also don't think there's anything wrong with it necessarily as a period piece and product of its time, but I just worry about all the thousands of thinkpieces we'll get if she doesn't change the lyrics. I'm excited too! Fearless has always been my least favourite album so I'm interested to hear this and see if it gives me a bit more love for it. I'm definitely riding the hype of it so far!

I’m hoping Need You Now will be one of the new songs, I’ve been obsessed with the leaked song for awhile and have been thinking it’s such a great song that should have been released...

Honestly, I’ve been scared for her to receive even the slightest bit of hate after we saw how bad 2016 was for her. That side of society does not understand what constructive criticism means at all or how to respectfully educate someone. So I’m like you and worry that they’ll come after her again if she sings the original lyrics. I don’t know if it could be seen as owning up to it and admitting it was wrong. Now I’m about to sound like a hypocrite because I still listen to the song and enjoy it.

You guys are making me want to go search for all of her unreleased songs! The only ones I have listened to and have on my iPod are Dark Blue Tennessee, Sweet Tea and God’s Graces, and Permanent Marker. Thinking about a better quality version of Dark Blue Tennessee makes me go 💓

There's a difference from changing a line that slutshames to changing an entire song because it talks about a feud. It is ok to learn from the past and change and grow as you learn. paramore will never play Misery Business live ever again because of shaming in the song and just the growing process.

I suppose if it's the one line I'm thinking of, that could be changed. She does adapt lyrics over time if they no longer work (e.g. taking hey kids spelling is fun out of ME).
PTB originally had a homophobic line in it, which I'd rather not repeat, but you can probably find it after some googling/youtubing. I noticed that even after she changed the lyrics she never really volunteered to play that song outside of the Fearless tour so I guess she's ashamed of it.

Dark Blue Tennessee was like my absolute favorite Taylor song for a time, if it makes it on to one of these albumssss 🥺🤧

I'm actually shocked by the number of people on sites like reddit who don't know she changed that line. Like, I remember finding out about that line a few years into being a fan and being shocked by it so I didn't realise so many people just still assumed that was the lyric.

Yeah, not many people I talk to know the original PTB line. It had been well censored by the time Fearless came out (I remember people saying Folklore being her first album with an advisory sticker on it but I'm pretty sure the original version of the debut album I bought had one on it because of PTB and the damns in Teardrops On My Guitar and Cold As You). In my opinion, "You won't mind if I say" flows better and the original lyric was kind of just immature.

I will say that the hate towards Miz Biz was a bit misguided too because the same crowd that criticized Paramore for that song have NO problem singing along to "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" but that's a conversation for a different day. I'm happy Paramore moved on from Miz Biz. It was fun to see live but there are so many better songs on Riot. I'm happy CrushCrushCrush is finally getting the love it deserves in live shows.

I absolutely love Love Story (Taylor's Version) and I'm so beyond excited for the album release because Fearless was the first Taylor album I ever had!! It is nice to get to relive the era because I was quite a "swiftie" when Fearless came out. I'm wondering if she'll do any music videos for these re-releases. Perhaps songs that didn't have videos originally?

When she re-records RED it better be on red vinyl or I will LOSE MY MIND. Like the RSD vinyl was CLEAR! HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?!?!? THE ALBUM IS LITERALLY CALLED RED! YOU HAD ONE JOB!
