Okay I’ve listened to it, and I like it. It’s not in any way bad, but to be honest if I’m going to listen to Fearless I’m going to listen to the original album none of the re-recordings stand out to me, there’s little differences but nothing major. There’s some odd instruments in some places, like Jump Then Fall is really kind of strange... like I said they aren’t bad, but aren’t in any way an improvement on the originals in my opinion. Fearless is probably the album I have listened to the most, it’s just so iconic to me and I like the original better given the choice. But I am really happy about the re-recording for a few reasons, 1. The album starts with Fearless rather than Jump Then Fall, it has always bothered me how the platinum version tracks went before the original track listing on that version of the album, especially as that is the only version on vinyl and it was really bothersome for me 2. Today Was A Fairytale being included is awesome!! 3. THE VAULT TRACKS I love them so much. This whole project is worth Mr. Perfectly Fine, I’m obsessed with it. I love all of them, but Mr. Perfectly Fine, Bye Bye Baby and That’s When are the standouts to me. I am soooo excited for the other recordings if they have vault tracks, the debut, Speak Now and RED I’m especially excited for. I believe that the beautiful eyes EP songs will be included for the debut and I’m thinking that Battle/Let’s Go is a likely candidate for a Speak Now or RED vault track. I also wonder if perhaps she would do Better Man and Babe for RED? I don’t know what kind of rights she has to those songs. I would love for songs like Both Of Us and Highway Don’t Care to be included on albums like Today Was A Fairytale was, but I don’t think(?) those were part of Big Machine as they were on other people’s albums and she didn’t include Two Is Better Than One so it’s doubtful. I’m getting way ahead of myself but I also just have this huge dream but somehow plausible theory that perhaps around Christmas she will re-record her Christmas EP and possibly include Christmas Tree Farm and other songs. That would be the greatest thing ever It probably won’t happen, but then again way back in 2013 or so when I was not so legally listening to Taylor’s unreleased songs on the internet, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought she’d release them one day so : ‘ )

I promised I'd try to write something coherent so here is my attempt at that.
The Fearless album is (as Maren Morris would put it) my teenage time machine. I have so many fun memories with my friends screaming and analyzing these lyrics. I have so many memories of being alone in my room on a typical Tuesday night throwing my curly hair around like I was Taylor myself. So many times connecting my teenage drama to these lyrics (even if they didn't exactly align). Realistically, this was the first full era I was a Swiftie in so, naturally the Fearless album has a ton of sentimental value.
With all of this sentiment, you'd think that this new version of Fearless wouldn't be able to compare but, honestly, I love this version as much, if not more, than the original. The original has my youth and all those memories connected to it. This new version is a direct path back to it. It allows me to look back on those memories with the perspective and experience I have now. I'm not 13 anymore, Taylor's no longer 18 and there's been growth. Taylor is more comfortable in her vocal performance now and has some of the experience now that she didn't have when she originally released these songs. Listening to this kind of feels like looking through your old yearbook with your friends it just feels so nice to remember how good this album made me feel, still makes me feel. I'm sure when I really want to look back I'll play my fearless platinum edition vinyl but for any other occasion, I am more than happy to replace the old versions of these songs with the new versions in my digital library. Maybe later I'll give a track by track review but for now all I want to say is last night really was the night things changed and I'm SO happy Taylor can say she owns this album now.
(On a side note, it also feels nice to be able to listen to the vault songs without feeling like I'm about to be carted to jail lol)

Okay, I may need to pace myself while listening to this album. The nostalgia and the feels are too much for me. 🥰❤️

If I ever get to hear Mr. Perfectly Fine live, I might have to raise my middle fingers during the line “but it’s wonderful to see that it never fazed you” because damn...the “relationship” really meant nothing to you, huh?
(after folklore and evermore, I can’t believe Taylor used the wrong fazed...sHaMe!!1)

On my first listen, I thought I had been singing the wrong lyrics all these years but then I started to wonder if Taylor had to make small changes in case Big Machine tried to sue her. I honestly know nothing about the legal side of all this. She did recently say in an interview with People that she went back through Fearless and picked out things that she thought needed to be improved. Maybe some of the little lyric changes were those improvements. Hearing "'cause she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts" instead of "but she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts" is going to take some getting used to, though! It is odd that it says "this ain't our fairytale" in the lyric video but the lyric is " this ain't a fairytale" in both the original Fearless album booklet and the Fearless (Taylor's Version) booklet... Which one is right??? https://www.instagram.com/p/CNhrstwnAue

I just tuned in to 2 of my favorite radio stations in Manila (yes, my home province is very close to Manila, so I can receive all of Manila’s radio stations), and so far, one of them (DWTM Magic 89.9) has Love Story (Taylor’s Version) on rotation, and the other one (DWRT 99.5 Play FM) has You All Over Me. It will be interesting to see if they (and the other radio stations here) will play all of Taylor’s versions of the singles from Fearless like back in the BMR era.

Hahaha am I the only one that thinks the re-recorded version of Superstar kind of sounds like Gotta Go My Own Way from High School Musical 2 a little bit.

I don't know why but We Were Happy reminds me of All Too Well for some reason...
After thinking about this all night, I’m not sure if it’s All Too Well that it reminds me of, another Taylor song, or another song by another artist but it’s driving me crazy!!! I do know that it reminds me of the RED album in general.

THAT PERSON THAT DID THE SPLIT AUDIO WITH THE TWO VERSIONS OF LOVE STORY MADE MORE! There’s not one of The Best Day, though, but maybe they’re working on it. Definitely going to listen to these later!

I didn’t want to say anything last Saturday in case anyone hadn’t gotten their physical album, yet, but I am assuming/hoping everyone has by now... I’m a little sad there were no secret messages in the album booklet. I was hoping they only went away because Scott or somebody told her she was getting too old for them (if somebody seriously did, I just want to have a chat with them...). But oh well. Maybe she’ll keep them up in her announcements for each album. Now THAT’S an Easter egg I can figure out!

I do know that it reminds me of the RED album in general. Omg so this song immediately reminded me of a song I wrote back in 2012. The guitar in the beginning is very similar to the one I wrote and it freaked me out when I first heard it. I was like omg I ripped off a Taylor song without ever hearing it The songs are at least a little different lyrically as Taylor's is about a past relationship and mine is about a crush that didn't like me back haha. I found the video of a recording of my song, and I wanna share it so you can hear the guitar part. But the singing makes me cringe which is why it is currently unlisted haha. Perhaps if I find some spare time I can do a re-record myself haha.

The japanese version I ordered gt released on 31st and the German version I ordered on the official German store will get here by the end of the year or so, because I ordered it together with the vinyl and the cassette.
