I actually feel really well after the vaccination. Except a very mild soreness in my arm, I had no problems at all. No fatigue, no pro sleeping, nothing. I went for a hike with my friend yesterday and everything was normal. Really pleased. Can’t wait for my second shot to be fully vaccinated.

Got my second shot yesterday! My arm was a little sore but not like with my first shot. Maybe I moved my arm more this time. My sister and I tried to drink as much water as we could yesterday to help with the side effects. She thought she had a little bit of a fever last night and some body aches. I feel a little achey today and I don’t have much energy but other than that, I feel pretty good. We’re actually going to the beach at the end of the month and it’s going to be weird not having to wear a mask. Although I think I might still wear one when we go to a restaurant or lots of people are around. It’s not happening on the beach, though. That Florida sun is too hot for all o’ dat.

I heard the soreness of the arm also depends a bit on the skill of the person vaccinating you. It needs to be in the right place. The dude that vaccinated me did really well. He told me to hang my arm loosely and he picked the right spot.

I finally have an appointment for my second shot - July 9th. ”That July 9th, the beat of your heart…”
But it is for ’Moderna’ instead of ’Pfizer’ like my first vaccine. They recommend to get the same one but they said you can get a different one for the second shot. I tried to make an appointment online today since I could finally make an appointment and was eligible, but it said there were no appointments for ’Pfizer’…So it was ’Moderna’ or nothing.

So I am finally double/fully vaccinated as of today, Canada Day 2021! My appointment was for July 9th but my local vaccination supersite has had walk-in vaccines available for people for their first or second shots this week and last week too I think. I wanted to get it over with and part of me wanted to get it done today too because it’ll be more memorable knowing I was fully vaccinated on Canada Day (since I am a Canadian). And if I start feeling tired or off at least I know I can tell work I did get my second vaccine today. I’m not lying about getting it. I was planning on trying to get the vaccine today for the last week and planning on probably taking off today to make it a four day weekend. I don’t think a lot of people will be at work tomorrow anyways either. Most will probably take it off to make it a four day weekend. I can’t ”take it off” since I’m not a permanent employee but I can take ”sick time”.
I don’t have matching vaccines so hopefully it will be okay. The government said they recommend getting the same both times but it is impossible when they only have ’Moderna’ vaccines available now. I was worried at first and felt anxiety over not having matching vaccines but it’s the only thing available.

I can’t wait for my second shot in two weeks. I want to get it over with. Although it won’t change much for me. I’m definitely not planning on changing my cautious behavior. It’s weird: from one day to another it’s not mandatory to wear a mask anymore, not even at work. It’s insane to open up everything again. Even clubs are opened. Next Tuesday we have a meeting at work. They will probably issue guidelines on working in the office or at home. The tendency is that everyone should come back to the office. I will definitely not do that. It’s much better and safer at home. I will limit my time in the office to a minimum. At the end of the month I’ll start summer vacation anyway. I’ll evaluate the situation after that and decide how I will proceed.

I just had my 1st dose of Pfizer last week, and my 2nd dose will also be two weeks from today (a total interval of 3 weeks).

But because they wanted to vaccinate more people with their first shot when vaccines were tight, they stretched it to 6 or even 8 weeks. Now it’s down to 5 again.

I was going to share how it’s been for me after I got my second shot, but I’ve been really busy lately. It seems whenever family is over (sibling), things are like chaos in terms of how my parents and I usually live. It’s usually quiet here and I can get things done, but when other people are staying here it’s like the routine goes out the window. I feel like I haven’t gotten much done and haven’t gotten to look on the computer very much like I usually do each day at home.
I felt alright the day that I got it (Canada Day) but I think I did start to feel tired and achey that evening. When I went to bed I felt a lot of aches. I sort of had a little bit of a hard time getting to sleep as I just felt a little unwell like you can’t put your finger on what it is and why you feel unwell. I fell asleep and then in the morning I felt quite rough. The day after getting my second vaccine was the worst day for me. I felt very achey and quite tired. I think I slept until the early or mid-afternoon (which isn’t uncommon though on the weekend or a day off). I also had some sinus pressure and a headache that day. I felt quite bad until about the late afternoon or evening and then I started to feel more back to normal. The next day I felt back to normal and I didn’t really have any other reactions after that since then. But my arm that I got the shot in has been bruised or like it’s swollen feeling a little.

Two weeks after opening everything up infections are rising rapidly. Who would’ve expected that? Turns out letting people party or even go clubbing wasn’t the brightest idea. One has to wonder if common sense still exist.
