I now listened to three songs of Folklore, somehow I like it, because it's not a new overproduced loud pop album for the radio stations, but somehow I think it's like me, which means very depressive. I don't like too much of depressive music and if it's the entire album with just depressive songs, I think I wont listen to the whole album in one session. It changes a bit in the second half of the album. The songs are a bit more positive. |

I don't know if someone has posted about this yet but I sort of read a few of Taylor's posts or explanations about this album, and it seems like the theme or idea of this album is her writing songs from different people's points of view. So I guess they may not be about her life. Is this what "Folklore" means? Stories of people or something? Yes. Folklore is the cultural expression of the “regular” people. Songs, tales, art, traditional activities, even traditional clothing. |

The multiple "f*ck"s in this album......Geesh......  Don't know how much I like her in particular using that word. Is she trying to be more edgy than she is? I guess I'm just not used to her swearing that much. She went from damn to hell to sh*t to b*tches to f*ck. Yeah. After 1989 she went on this path of desperately trying to prove she’s grown up and not the innocent girl. Ironically that is teenage behavior and not mature at all. I guess she needs to catch up on the times she missed. It's literally just swearing lol, I don't think she's doing it to feel good I just think she feels it fits her creative vision better. Swear words carry their own weight and meaning that sometimes can't be conveyed otherwise. Like in Betty, if a 17 year old girl saw her ex who had cheated on her at a party, she's probably not going to say something more eloquent than telling them to 'f off'. |

Lol Then that's for their parents to discuss with them, and their parents should be informed about what they're taking their kids to anyway. If they take their kids to a concert without realising there's gonna be one or two swear words, that's on the parents. |

I think it's a good album, it's just not the kind of music I would normally listen to. Right now I like the 1, cardigan, august, and betty I think. The multiple "f*ck"s in this album......Geesh...... I’m not against swearing and I don’t expect Taylor to be miss goody two shoes in real life. But there’s a time and a place for it. In her private life it’s fine. But in her music it’s unnecessary. She always did well being creative with words. She didn’t need to swear. But like I said: the last couple of years she’s intentionally trying to “rebel” with things like swearing, posing with alcohol and going against existing hierarchies. That’s quite immature. |

Lol That's something that wouldn't bother anyone in Germany Swearing also doesn't get censored on tv or radio here, it's totally normal I wonder about this but I wonder how or why certain words became known as swears. If they weren't known as swears they'd be regular words like every other word. North America is free with swearing I think but swears get bleeped out on shows most of the time. I was shocked to hear or see sometimes on reality TV shows and things that played on TV after 10 PM or 11 PM or something like that they let it rip and didn't bleep out swears. |

I wish the colored pictures from the album photoshoot would be released also. The picture of Taylor in the big jacket looking up is beautiful and it's even more beautiful in color (which is one picture that is available in color). I've always preferred pictures in color than black and white. You can always edit pictures to change to black and white but not the way around unless you try to edit and color it yourself like some editors do.

I just thought of this but f##k, I want a signed 'Folklore' album booklet now!!!! I wish they had it originally when she first announced it two days ago. Maybe they would do it eventually and sell it signed. I really wish they would. She would probably sign it in black but it would look really cool if it was signed in silver or gold marker instead so it stands out against the dreary album cover picture.
