Servers and waiters get paid less because of tips and typically the tips they get don’t equal the amount of minimum wage. Also cooks typically get part of the tips too. Well then that's the issue of the restaurants. Minimum wage is the legal amount people should be paid. So why is that allowed to happen then? Because these mass corporate companies like to under pay their employees so they can make a quick buck even thought they have millions of dollars at their disposal. Because human lives are not as valuable as money to these people. Because of corporate greed and for a million other reasons. Why do I feel like listening to Rage Against the Machine all of a sudden? |

*conversation going over her head* XD The Canadian mail service is striking because of the gap in pay between workers doing the same job so they're striking for more pay. Strike means no mail being delivered. The conversation has evolved from the gap in their pay to the low pay that most waiters and waitresses get which is why so many of them rely on tips in order to have a livable income. |

How does this even happen though? It's illegal to pay someone less than minimum wage. It's called servers wage and it's legal under the labour board. Bartenders are the people mostly affected by it but a lot of restaurants do it too. |

Might not be able to see my dentist for a while so my brain thinks it’s cool to think “What if you get a cavity? What if you lose one of your baby teeth?” It’s been YEARS since I last had a cavity but here I am like OH MY GOD I’M GOING TO GET ONE AND MY TOOTH IS GOING TO ROT OUT 😭😭😭😭
