This postal strike, that's making me worried right now. 'Canada Post' is terrible as it is. They need to get out and work. They seem to do little as it is. So I know not to expect much from them. It's always bewildered me how it takes a week (probably) to send a letter across Canada while it takes only a few days in the U.S. for a package to be shipped. I remember before Taylor's online store and the big international one and when things were separate, when I'd order a package of things and send it to my family's American address it would take only like two days (with standard shipping). It seems to take longer with the newer store. Idk, I will agree that it is disappointing in how slow it can be at times, I do hope they fix the pay gap they're protesting.

I heard that an offer was proposed to the union but the deadline ended last night or something. There were apparently strikes where I live on Friday so there was no running of 'Canada Post'...

Yeah apparently they trying to stop packages from entering the country but to be honest idk if they'll be able to do so. I may price out ups to see if it's some what affordable and send my cards out that way.

'Canada Post' can't possibly stop their services leading up to the biggest holiday of the year, which is the busiest time of the year for shipping. They know they'll lose a lot of business if they don't sort this out as people will use other methods instead.

Well I know Trudeau threatened the company to work things out with the union or he will get involved. I don't know how him getting involved would help but if it puts an end to the strike then good riddance.

Well a few companies have also threatened to sue Trudeau if he doesn't make it so their companies can't send they're packages to people on black friday. So lots of lawsuits are being threatened right now.

I'd imagine most of these really big name companies could probably sue for billions. I'm sure they have plenty of leverage. The thing that confuses me is that they HAD to have known about this issue for awhile why are they waiting until NOW to strike.

Pardon my language but my dad calls people who are lazy "dogf***ers" and that's the image I get from the people who work for 'Canada Post'. Their service is so slow. Of course they'd take advantage of the busiest time of the year to get a pay raise. It's like they strike every year to get a pay raise every year. Normal jobs don't get pay raises every year. :/ Another thing that I don't understand and get annoyed by is why servers and waiters get tips. Do bankers, cooks, firefighters, cops, teachers, etc. get tips? No. So why should servers get it when they get paid a wage anyways. I can understand giving tips for servers who don't get paid a wage, but is that even legal (I'd be shocked if that happened)?

Servers and waiters get paid less because of tips and typically the tips they get don’t equal the amount of minimum wage. Also cooks typically get part of the tips too.

Well then that's the issue of the restaurants. Minimum wage is the legal amount people should be paid. So why is that allowed to happen then?
