My boss is finally leaving our department. He will work together with our new manager for a few months. But eventually he will be out of the picture. That’s great news. Although I’m cautious. Our new manager is a woman with no experience in our profession. Let’s hope she’s a good person. I’m also a bit skeptical because our business unit won’t change. The director is a terrible guy. So he might push our new manager to do bad things too.

I met the CEO of my company today. That is wonderful Sydney! Idk if wonderful is the right word. It’s weird to say I’ve shook a billionaire’s hand but he seemed nice all things considered

That is wonderful Sydney! Idk if wonderful is the right word. It’s weird to say I’ve shook a billionaire’s hand but he seemed nice all things considered I can imagine you both live in entirely different worlds. Even with our CEO the gap is large. Once we had a lunch meeting with him. He was totally baffled that we talked about issues and shared our concerns with him. Apparently he expected us to be unconditionally enthusiastic about our company. So I can imagine the gap would be even bigger with a billionaire CEO of a mega cap corporation.

The longer I'm in retail, the more I think "I gotta quit retail". Why does everyone think it's okay to touch me? Like, I don't know you and anyone who knows me knows I DON'T LIKE TO BE TOUCHED. Don't pat my back, or poke or push me, or grab me in an attempt to scare me cause you think that it would be funny? DON'T TOUCH ME!!!!!! Like I'm just trying to do my job.

Sometimes I feel like my life only exists of work, work and work. Yes, I have weekends for other stuff, but time passes by so quickly that it feels like I'm always working. Would be nice to have like a 3-month holiday.

Would be nice to have like a 3-month holiday. I know the feeling! That’s actually the biggest change from school to fulltime work: you don’t have longer breaks anymore. I always needed the summer break in school to really recharge. When I started working, it really wore me down to keep grinding year after year. I was glad when I got a better contract with more days off. It’s important to keep a healthy life/work balance. If you don’t get the time to recover properly, it will affect your health, especially your mental health.

If you don’t get the time to recover properly, it will affect your health, especially your mental health. I'm feeling like going back to school, I'm working more than ever. I kept my availability the same and now it's like day I don't work Ihave school, every day I don't have school, I work. The 1 day a week where I don't have either, I'm playing catch-up on chores or homework and it's exhausting. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to work at the pace I am. However, I don't know what next term has in store for me either. I'm trying to switch schools (just waiting for them to accept me) and I'm switching programs, so who knows? maybe my new new program will change my work schedule. Also, I think my new years resolution is to look for a new job. I just have this unshakeable ennui with my work where I can't bring myself to care anymore. It's like I'm trying to improve myself in one area of my life and now I want to start changing everything. Maybe this is all just part of being 28 though.

Not in the next 15 months (finishing stuff), but afterwards I might take half a year break to travel and relax. And I'm not sure if I will work fulltime after, it's nice to work 4x 9 hours and to have a 3 day weekend, something like that.

I mean, can you not spread your study over a longer period? So in stead of finishing in óne semester, you spread it out over two semesters? It might take longer before you're finished, but in a much better speed.
