My boss turns off almost all the lights, even during a working day, to save some energy. It's annoying the prices go up, but also annoying if it's dark everywhere in the building...

Yeah, that’s pretty stupid. It’s telling that that’s the level of thought to do better. We also have that at the company I work. Printing less, using less soap to wash your hands, re-using staples Meanwhile: let’s organize an event and throw out fifty grand in an hour.

This is why I don't understand why more companies aren't moving to being fully remote. You don't have to pay for utilities when your employees work from home.

I like the idea of working from home. My husband has been working from home since coved hit and he likes it. I like it because he can help me with Samantha. And now baby Adam when he arrives.

This is why I don't understand why more companies aren't moving to being fully remote. You don't have to pay for utilities when your employees work from home. It’s probably a control thing. Management doesn’t like the idea of not having the option of breathing down your neck if they feel like it. In reality management often isn’t really involved with what people do and how they do it anyway. Also inefficiency is a lot higher in the office right under their nose than people working at home. Another aspect is interaction and teambuilding. There’s still the illusion that it’s better to be around each other and interact. In reality that actually creates friction, discomfort and even stress. If you let people do their thing and leave it up to them to contact others when it’s required, you will create genuine bonds and useful communication.

I think I've finally found out what I want to do career wise. I never wanted anyone to boss me around or dictate how I spend my hours/days in life so I'm going to be my own boss. I want to have enough money to buy a business. I want a used car dealership.

I want to have enough money to buy a business. I want a used car dealership. It’s good that you figured that out. Just be careful with buying a business. My advice would be to keep it small, keep it in your circle of competence and perhaps set up something yourself. And keep in mind that being your own boss requires a lot of responsibility and hard work.
