The talk of Neapolitan ice cream a few posts back reminded me of something. I don't like chocolate ice cream. There's a weird flavor in it that reminds me of marshmallows, which I also hate. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely love chocolate. I even like ice cream that has chocolate chips or like a cookies and cream moment. But straight up chocolate ice cream? No thank you. Chocolate’s my fave! I also like mint chip and ice cream with brownie and cookie dough in it. I guess it’s just a preference thing. Man, now I want ice cream... See that's thing, I also love those ice cream flavors. It's just this (pic below) that I find disgusting. When my family would get the Neapolitan ice cream in the giant tub for birthdays and whatnot, I would only eat the strawberry and vanilla part of it.

I would only eat the chocolate ice cream (sometimes the vanilla). It took me forever to come around to strawberry ice cream.

Real cheese bits?? In ice cream?! That is not where they belong! Civilization is crumbling before my eyes.

We grow a lot of that purple stuff here and we eat it for dessert or a snack. Ube is also an important ingredient in one of our native desserts here. www.savvynana.com/recipe/halo-halo-filipino-iced-dessert/

But if there was, this would be it

It’s sweet, but not too much. The cheese bits give balance to the sweetness. That sounds really good! I've never tried Ube but I've heard nothing but good things about it! If you want to try it, your best bet is if there’s a Filipino store in your area. There’s a greater chance that you could find one if you live in or around Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg or Calgary, since most Filipinos in Canada live in those areas.

Yeah I would have to travel into Toronto for it for sure. Only downside is that all of Ontario is in lockdown right now so it would be next to impossible to get right now. Maybe sometime after the pandemic though. One of my best friends is Filipino, maybe I'll ask her if she's tried it before and if she liked it!

Ube is really really good! One of my good friends is half Filipino and he made me try it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone to try, and I can imagine it's great in ice cream.

This honestly isn’t an attack on anyone in the Fearless (Taylor’s Version) thread. I was saying similar things when I listened to 5 Seconds of Summer’s third album. Sometimes I get tired of people comparing Taylor’s new music to albums before 1989. Specifically RED and Speak Now. I feel like all you’re going to do is set yourself up for disappointment when you expect and hope for the new album to sound like one of those. Singers and bands are supposed to grow and explore. Really every artist. It wouldn’t be fair to compare my art in my journal to something I did 10 years ago. I’ve improved. If Taylor had kept making albums similar to RED and Speak Now, she would have grown stagnant. I can understand if you don’t really care for pop music. It’s not everyone’s thing. I can also understand missing an artist’s old sound. While I like 5SOS’s current sound, sometimes I do miss their old pop punk sound. But it’s fun to watch them explore with their music. I think part of the reason why I didn’t like Youngblood at first was because I was comparing it to Sounds Good Feels Good. So it kind of seems like people can’t truly listen to Taylor’s new music because they’re still holding on to RED and Speak Now. Although those two albums are most people’s favorites. Me, I would say any album but those two is my favorite because I also get tired of hearing about them AJDJSJFK They’re good albums but everyone must hear that magic that I don’t. 🤷🏼♀️ Hahahaha remember how you weren't sure about YoungBlood but it totally finally took me over the curve into really listening to 5SOS? It is such a reminder that music can be so subjective. I do think waiting for another "Speak Now" or "All Too Well" is setting up for failure. For instance, guilty as charged, I think some of my Lover disappointment in the whole album was hearing secret sessioners compare it to Speak Now... XD It does not remotely sound like Speak Now. It still has some good songs but... yeah. I think in some ways the re-recordings are awesome because we get to hear Taylor with it now, and see her vision for it more. In production and all. It doesn't take away from the quality of the originals for me but I am honestly so interested in hearing all the reproductions. Even 1989 although I put this album off like a can of sardines around these parts.

*me reading the negative talk about Olivia Rodrigo when I absolutely love her music and preordered her debut album*
You know guys sometimes a basic heartbreak song isn't all that bad.
I think Taylor @'ed her because in an interview she said Taylor is one of her inspos and she'd love to sing with her one day so.
