Sloppy journalists. In an article about the Spotify controversy, the journalist referenced to Taylor pulling her album “1985” off of Spotify 🤭 What's that all about? I noticed a few days ago that the original Fearless version isn't available to stream anymore.

I noticed a few days ago that the original Fearless version isn't available to stream anymore. That’s probably for another reason. Because the Spotify controversy is not about Taylor (yet). Neill Young started it by asking Spotify to choose between taking his music off or the Joe Rogan podcast off of Spotify. That’s because in his opinion Rogan is spreading disinformation about Covid. Spotify removed Young’s music collection. Understandable, since they paid 100 million for Rogan to be exclusive on Spotify. Joni Mitchell followed Young and had her songs removed from Spotify. Now there might be more artists who do that. The reference to Taylor was about pulling her music off Spotify back in the day because of disagreements on paying artists. Spotify announced they will put a warning to people on podcasts with Covid as a topic. I think it’s all a bit exaggerated. I agree that Rogan should be a bit more cautious when it comes to talking about Covid. But he’s not blatantly spreading lies or rallying the troops against vaccines and other Covid policies. But that’s what this whole mess has become: a black and white political discussion dividing people into two camps. One “right wing” camp against the government, vaccines, conspiracy theorists, pro freedom (in a confederate way). And the other one “left wing” pro vaccines, pro government, burning anti-vaxxers.

It feels like everything is being used to divide people. It's annoying that issues are always forced into black and white thinking.

To be fair to Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, they are of the era and genre of music where political protest is mostly what the purpose of their music is and I'm honestly shocked that they didn't do this earlier. Although it's a bummer that if I want to listen to River or Old Man then I have to go to YouTube. Also this shows unity amongst one very specific group of people and that's Canadian folk singers. I guess we go to stick together.

I do the dishes every day, so everything is nice and clean quickly. With a dishwasher you still have to rinse before you put it in. You have to take it out again, possibly dry it off a bit more. Or some things can’t go in the dishwasher so you have to do them separately anyway. And most of all, like you mentioned: it’s not always immaculately clean. I also don’t like the weird feel of dishes and especially glasses coming from a dishwasher. Not to mention erosion is a lot higher.

I was spoiled/privileged growing up with a dishwasher, and then the apartments I have lived in also had one. This is the first time I haven't had one so I'm just not used to it. I much prefer a dishwasher, I don't have time to wash the dishes everyday, so they pile up and then I get overwhelmed to do them all on my days off along with all the other cleaning I have to do. I find the dishwasher easier/more convenient because I can just quickly load it up and run it and get other things done while it's running. I don't mind loading and unloading the dishwasher. It doesn't take that long. As for handwash only items, I can simply handwash them while the dishwasher is running. And another reason I don't like not having one is that it makes me not want to cook as much because I don't want to dirty up a ton of dishes making a meal, so I tend to eat pre-made frozen sort of meals that I can put in the oven/air fryer etc and use 0-like 2 dishes instead.
