I know we have the Spam Your Feelings thread, but to me it would be a good idea to have a separate thread for a support group to anyone suffering from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, just anything that has you feeling down and dejected and we can all talk about it here and try and support each other the best way we can.
I’ll just start off with as you can probably tell with some of my recent posts I’ve been in a deep, deep depression. It has gotten a little bit better as the week has progressed.
I’ve consulted a psychologist to find out if I have any underlying issues that are contributing to my depression. I suspect it could be ADD or an eating disorder, but I was sick of just keeping it inside me because that did no good. Also gonna start seeing a therapist next week. My old therapist is a family friend that I can call at any time. Also texted a crisis hotline earlier in the week as well as joining a separate online support group.
What I’m trying to do this weekend is just stay as busy as possible. I’m about to go out of town for the weekend. Gonna try and find a good book to read. Gonna go see my nephew’s basketball game tommorow morning and probably hang out with them all day tommorow. Gonna study for my driving exam as well as gonna start studying here for my GED and also trying to learn Spanish mainly because I’m Hispanic and my job I’m starting next week involves interviewing my dad’s clients or helping out anyway and a lot of them likely speak Spanish.
My main job will be help my uncle out. He has trouble hearing so maybe just trying to relay whatever the clients say to him and just taking notes. That’ll be good, but it’s only a part time job so I’m gonna try looking to volunteer somewhere as well as getting involved with church and starting to go every Sunday including this Sunday. There are so many things to do I just have to start doing them.
Anyways if anyone needs any advice I’m here. I know others have helped me when I’ve needed it and I wanna do the same.
