Following the publication of the diagnosis, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from concert touring, canceling the remaining leg of a current tour that was supposed to start up in Australia and New Zealand... It's sad to hear because from what I understand, he's always put on one heck of a show, but his health comes first, and I can't blame him for retiring. He does have other projects he's going to continue with, though, so he won't be completely away from the music business it seems. |

I can imagine, such an avid guitarist having to deal this this kind of news. This is very depressing. I think this is a disease that needs more attention for sure.

I will miss seeing him singing in public. "Sweet Caroline" has always been one of my very favorite songs in the whole world.

I can imagine, such an avid guitarist having to deal this this kind of news. This is very depressing. I think this is a disease that needs more attention for sure. yeah, it is depressing. I've heard his music my whole life ... it feels kind of the same way it did when I heard that Glen Campbell had Alzheimer's. No one can say the man hasn't had a great career, though... he's been playing since the sixties... touched so many lives... it's a great legacy and he can be proud of it... |

In fact that whole album is so underrated. And the soundtrack he did for the Jonathan Livingston Seagull movie is beautiful... |

I've never really liked Neil Diamond but this is tragic news. He's been such a staple in the music industry.

My grandma loves Neil Diamond. I know he isn't dead, but this is still such a tragic loss to music.  |
