If you've got acne, just remember our 'enthusiastic' sebaceous glands and cell regeneration means that our skin heals faster and ages slower.

If you've got acne, just remember our 'enthusiastic' sebaceous glands and cell regeneration means that our skin heals faster and ages slower. Really? I've read online that because my stupid sebaceous glands are oily or something and clog up, it causes the annoying small bumps on my upper arms (and sort of on my back and neck). I didn't think or know it meant that it was a good thing...But I clearly know that older people don't get acne because their cells are older so I guess it makes sense. I have an issue with stupid sebaceous glands. I seem to have a lot of pimples on my face that are under the skin and haven't popped up yet. It's annoying. I don't know how to get rid of them. I have some kind of face wash thing that comes in a jar that is supposed to prevent sebaceous glands from being so oily but I don't use it regularly so I don't know if it helps. I just learned yesterday more about "senescence" in my 'Cancer Cell Biology' course. It's a state a cell can go into, which is that they neither grow or die. I didn't know that things like 'Botox' gets those cells to keep growing to renew and keep skin looking young.

I don't think I'll ever be able to stop doing #1. I do it on a daily basis. Probably an hourly basis.

I don't think I'll ever be able to stop doing #1. I do it on a daily basis. Probably an hourly basis. Well, fact is the majority of people on this planet have it worse than you. Another thing you can focus on is see other people’s lives or possessions in perspective. Look at Taylor for example: one could say she has the perfect life, all one could ever want. But despite her career, money, people admiring her. Is she really happy or at ease with her life? The answer is probably no. She’s living in a golden cage, she’s constantly chased. The pressure on her music is off the charts. All her relationships failed. And even if she finds a good man and retires. She’s not even 30, what is she going to do with the rest of her life? The grass is always greener on the other side. There’s really no other option than to focus on you. You have to find a way to live your life and be okay with it. Being better than others or owning more than anyone won’t help you to do that. The satisfaction of that will be gone within a day.

I didn't know that things like 'Botox' gets those cells to keep growing to renew and keep skin looking young. I can't say what's going on with your 'bumps' for sure but have you researched exfoliation methods? I know with acne sufferers, often our skin does not shed dead skin at the same rate that it is regenerating. When this happens, the pores get clogged (with dead skin) and you get acne. Oil production is actually very good for the skin, keeping it moisturized and youthful for longer and though it occurs often, acne and oily skin don't necessarily go hand in hand. I had oily skin with acne as a teenager but the excess oil cleared up into adulthood, even though my acne remained. I'm very happy to say that I have very healthy skin and still produce a healthy amount of oil. My acne always protruded to the surface of my skin, red and inflamed with a head. I know what cleared up my acne, but I can't say for sure what might help yours. My issue was cell turnover. As I mentioned, my skin was not shedding as quickly as it was regenerating so I had too much dead skin sitting on the surface of my skin, being the main trigger of my acne. But not just any sort of exfoliation is suitable for this. I have products that are specially designed to do this in a way that is effective, but does not exfoliate more than is necessary (if this happens, the skin freaks out, and just about adds another layer of 'skin' for you to exfoliate). In other words, it has to be done gradually and gently but in an effective way, so specialized products are necessary. That is really interesting and sounds like an awesome course. I kind of wish I had done more science subjects when I was at school. I convinced myself I was no good at it (because I'm rubbish at maths). I love learning stuff like that, it's freakin cool. Thanks for sharing the info
