You always pull through for me, Jazzy. What have you been into lately? Paramore's new album "After Laughter" grew on me, though I think it is a little more pop than alternative. The Birthday Massacre is usually tossed under alternative though idk they seem more rock. but for say, their new album Under Your Spell is the best thing they've done since Pins and Needles. May or may not have heard it but Fleurie's album Love and War. fantastic. I recently got into Ruelle. She's pretty rad. I also recently got into some of the Smashing Pumpkins. they're under alternative too, an alt-rock sorta thing I suppose. The new PVRIS album imo actually outdid their debut. Surprised me. AURORA is someone I absolutely adore now and I live for that debut album from her. Icon for Hire, their first album is really good, second is meh, the third one they've released last year is really good. so yea some toss ups there.

I listened to After Laughter but didn't like it as much as self titled but it's still great. Also haven't gotten around to the new Pvris record yet but I need to ASAP. And I know Smashing Pumpking from guitar here lol!!

When I was entering middle school alternative music was really having a moment. Bands like Fall Out Boy, Paramore, The Killers, MCR were really big. I don't listen to it as much as I used to but there are still quite a few alternative bands I like. I will be a Paramore fan forever (After Laughter is one probably my favourite album of theirs if not one of my favourite albums ever). Other than them I also like Real Friends, The Story So Far and Citizen.

I was a teenager in the 90's. I grew up with Nirvana, Live, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Green Day. Later it was Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, 3 Doors Down, Foo Fighters, Evanescence, Silverchair. I love alternative and rock. I still do, but there are not many good bands nowadays. I secretly hoped that Taylor would go in the direction of rock/alternative. Unfortunately she cheaped out with electro-pop. However, I still haven't given up on her diving into my favorite genre

I'm really into The Academic right now with "Why Can't We Be Friends?" & "Bear Claws". Their melodies are memorable for me. Also, AJR. I never used to like them, but their music of the past 2 years has been so enjoyable. "Sober Up", "Come Hang Out", "Drama", "Weak".
On the Imagine Dragons conversation, I have this pattern where I never like their current album as much as their previous one, then it ends up becoming my favorite. "Smoke + Mirrors" was such a great record that brings out so many emotions.
