My top artist this year were
1. Taylor Swift (duh) 2. Olivia Rodrigo 3. Bleachers 4. Kacey Musgraves 5. Hayley Williams
My top songs were
1. Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift 2. The Very First Night (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift 3. Easy - Troye Sivan featuring Kacey Musgraves 4. happier - Olivia Rodrigo 5. This Love (Taylor's Version)
I listened to 12,465 minutes of music on Spotify this year. I was in the top 1% of Taylor listeners this year.
I have to say, my list was kind of a surprise this year. For starters, I know I listened to way more music than that this year. However, I think my listening is pretty split up. I listen to a lot of music on YouTube when I'm on my computer and unfortunately, since I don't subscribe to YouTube music, I don't think there's a way to know how much music I listened to on YouTube for sure. A lot of that time would also be spent listening to actual records on my record player. No way to get metadata on that.
I thought it was impressive that I was in Taylor's top 1%, I listened to her for 5225 minutes this year. However, I went online and kept finding people in her 0.005% and listened to her for like 100,000 minutes. I love Taylor but do these people have jobs? How can you cram that much listening in? LOL
I didn't think I listened to Kacey Musgraves that much. I know I listened to Easy a lot but that was because it was on a playlist I listened to a lot. The online other Kacey song on my playlist was Justified which was apparently my 7th most listened to song this year. It was also on a playlist I listened to a lot though so...
I also find it hysterical that my top song and 5th song were from 1989 TV and 1989 TV hasn't even come out yet LOL. I was manifesting it so hard guys! The funny thing is now I'm pretty convinced we'll get Speak Now TV first. I guess time and Taylor will tell. I'm pretty sure both albums are already done and recorded, she's just waiting for each of their respective lawsuits to clear up.
Anyways, that what you missed on my Spotify wrapped.

Apparently the YouTube app is free to use and download so my Youtube wrapped was as follows
Top Artists 1. Taylor Swift (Duh) 2. dodie 3. Florence + The Machine 4. Paramore 5. Maisie Peters
Top Tracks 1. You're On Your Own Kid 2. King - Florence and The Machine 3. The Very First Night 4. Anti-Hero 5. This Is Why-Paramore
Apparently I only listened to 2406 of music on YouTube this year but somehow, this recap seems a lot more accurate. I think King by Florence and The Machine might have been one of my favourite songs to come out this year. Also even though Maisie Peters wasn't on my Spotify top 5, I think it's because I started listening to her more recently. It makes sense she would be in my top 5 more so than Kacey Musgraves. It also makes sense that Paramore is there, although I know I listened Hayley's solo stuff more this year, Paramore is still my favourite band. I have a feeling they're going to be higher on both lists next year because their new album is coming out in February. Oh I was in Taylor's top 2% of listeners, which I guess is cool!

I love Pentatonix's take on this Filipino Christmas classic. And having Lea Salonga onboard with them is an excellent touch! โค๏ธ
For those who are wondering, here is the original composer and singer of this song.

Here is another song I really think is fantastic and I do think Elley Duhรฉ is about to explode onto the music scene in 2023. In my opinion her voice is amazing. Along with the X Ambassadors and Lost Frequencies this song "Back To You" is amazing.

Okay, here's a random question for the Americans on the site. Is Rush and The Tragically Hip big acts down there? I know in Canada they are like god level bands but it's so weird to me that they aren't as big in the states. Like I can kind of understand it with the Hip because a lot of their songs are very succinctly about Canada but Rush? I'm just curious, is there impact in the states downplayed for Canada or are they simply not as big as they are here. I'm just curious.
