I thought we could maybe have a different thread to talk about Taylor’s vinyl record releases since if there’s a new release it’s sometimes confusing to be jumping from the different era threads. But I understand if it’s too much the same as in the specific merchandise section. I just thought there could maybe be one here too in the general merchandise section.

”Record Store Day” just announced that Taylor will have a ”yet-to-announce” ”special release” vinyl record for April 23rd 2022!! FINALLY we get another release. It was like she was avoiding having special releases again for some unknown reason.

You know, I'm about 90% sure that I saw one of the orange FYE reputation vinyls in a store when reputation first came out but I didn't buy it cause I thought it was too much and I wasn't sure how I'd felt about the album yet. Now I love the album and the price gouging on rep is astronomical. That day still haunts me. One day people will stop reselling it at insane prices, right?

You know, I'm about 90% sure that I saw one of the orange FYE reputation vinyls in a store when reputation first came out but I didn't buy it cause I thought it was too much and I wasn't sure how I'd felt about the album yet. Now I love the album and the price gouging on rep is astronomical. That day still haunts me. One day people will stop reselling it at insane prices, right? I think my biggest flex is getting the reputation picture disc for $10 on eBay - think it was a mistake because the price went up after I ordered it. Maybe that'll happen XD |

Especially considering the fact that they are likely going to be re-pressed soon. The factory where all of Taylor’s Canadian records are pressed isn’t far from where I live. My biggest flex is probably that I got all my RSD vinyls retail. I’m still haunted by the orange rep and the pink 1989 (which didn’t come to my area). |

Maybe that'll happen XD Yeah I got the picture disc for 30 bucks on Amazon so I’m shocked to see what people are trying to sell them for now. Another flex: I got my debut RSD on the RSD the year AFTER it was released. It was an incredible stroke of luck looking back. The one RSD release from that year that I wanted (and got) was the alternative Fleetwood Mac album but I looked around my record store just to see what was there and lo and behold, the RSD debut was just sitting there, had probably been sitting there for a year and I was like "well looks like I'm buying this too!". It was incredible! I think it's probably my fave of the RSD releases too. It's really pretty. |

I started following RSD probably from around the time it started but I wasn't collecting at that time. Once I actually started collecting records RSD sort of became a tradition for me. It's so much fun to wake up first thing and line up for a record.I honestly look forward to it every year. I didn't get to participate last year but this year, I'll be down there first thing. ESPECIALLY if Taylor's releasing something. Her stuff sells out first. |

Apparently the shipment for "the lakes" vinyl has been delayed at my local record store but that's okay cause they're still getting one. If he'd be willing to, I'll ask the owner if he can put one aside for me when they do come in. Something that absolutely SHOCKED me is that my record store is getting the little voice EP (by Sara Bareilles). I will be down there first thing for that. I may also get the starcrossed picture disc. I'm so excited for tomorrow!

RD today was crappy for me. I got nothing but a headache!!!! I want to cry and spank my daughter because she had a fit in the store and so we had to leave and I did not get a thing!
