I prefer Folklore. But I haven't completely analyzed Evermore yet. I'm even still processing Folklore, lol. Evermore sounds a bit less thorough and smooth.

I prefer Folklore as well and I'm in the same boat as you... I'm definitely still absorbing Folklore. I'm really just starting to get into Evermore now but so far I enjoy it despite it not being my favourite album!

Folklore is the superior. It's a standout from beginning to end. Evermore is more of a mixed bag :/

I’m definitely starting to like evermore more but I think folklore is my favourite Taylor album overall now.

I find it very intriguing when new things come out, and I'm always the first to say it's my new favorite album because it's new, but that's not the case with this album. I genuinely like this one better than folklore, ever so slightly, just because I can relate to this one much much more than folklore.

I have not loved a Taylor album as much as I love Evermore since I wrote 5000 word defenses of Reputation which was still a somewhat mixed bag at times. Evermore feels like the perfect connection of the old and the new Taylor, the growth and the similarities which grow rather than leave. Folklore is a good body of work, but it feels a bit more entrapped in a story. Evermore feels so much freer. I realize that makes it seem more "mixed", but I guess I just don't care. I love every song on Evermore for different reasons. I might finally have something to take Speak Now's place in my heart.

I think personally I like folklore more than evermore. For me, timing and relatability really come into play when it comes to picking my favourite Taylor album. If it helps me get through something it’s going to climb higher up the list for me. Also I feel like evermore has more songs about romantic relationships which is wonderful but, for a single Pringle like me, I can only relate so much. Evermore is a wonderful album still! I think it’s worked it’s way up to the #3 spot on my favourite Taylor album list.

I think Folklore was less risky, while it did add a few elements of alternative or indie music, which is something completely new for her, it's still a fairly pop record (I say it in the best way possible, I love it), and as a result it is more solid set of songs, Evermore was more experimental and took many more risks, experimenting with interesting, percussive programing (which at times could sound a bit too inorganic, think Closure for example), old timey synth pads and leads like in happiness, odd time signatures like in Tolerate it, and other stuff. Its way too late I shoyld be sleeping
