Lowkey might need glasses because I thought below RED it said "stream now" not Speak Now AJGLDJLJFKDK Anywho, not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't Taylor dressing up as a man! I was a little worried it would be like a "men suck, women are superior" thing but thankfully it's not. It's just men that act like that and society that sucks.

Taylor’s look as a man reminded me of Jake Gyllenhaal I think the video is okay. Not great. I agree with Laurie that it was good this was not aimed at men in general. It was fun she gave her father a small part. At first watch I already noticed that “guy” didn’t move like a man. When Taylor showed it was her, it made sense.

If I'm being honest, this video doesn't impress me very much and I don't like it. She could've done SO much more I feel like. It was a disappointment. If the guy in the music video wasn't her it would be such a boring video. When I first watched it I couldn't believe that she resorted to using some guy and to not have her in it at all. When it showed she was the guy it shocked me because it didn't look like her at all. But I still feel like she should've been included in it herself as a girl and maybe show how it's different for her and if she was a guy, not just from the guy's point of view. I just don't like this video very much I guess because it doesn't impress me a lot. But I like the no scooter sign in the subway thing where the names of her first six albums were spray painted on the wall.

Except the scene where she threw the tennisball at her father, the video was uneventful. It's also a bit confusing how the video is related to the song. The song implies Taylor's life and career would've been easier if she was a man. In the video she paints the picture of a man with such a life/career, but it's not really something one would aspire. It's good Taylor realized the message of the song is a bit out of place. I hope Swifties will understand that too and stop treating the song as a manhater anthem.

I actually loved this video. I thought it was completely iconic. Everything that was done in this video was extremely accurate and I thought represented this idea well. I was so shocked at the end when it showed that she was the man, and every time I showed someone else the video they were shocked too because it doesn't look anything like her.
On the other hand, I do agree that she probably could've done more. I wish she would've brought it closer to home with her career and done some stuff about concerts, streaming rights, sitting down in a board room, or something like that, with the music industry, besides the iconic album titles and no scooter sign.
I loved the video though, and I've probably watched it at least 50 times.

I agree with most of this, The Man is honestly probably my least favourite Taylor video now XD I thought it was a bit disappointing because I feel like feminism is a touchy political subject and I guess I was hoping that it would focus on uplifting and empowering women, instead of what it was XD It didn't really match up with the song either I don't think, because the song is apparently about the double standards, and how the world would view Taylor if she were a man. However, the video didn't seem like anything that Taylor would do? Sooo a little confusing there, overall it just seemed to miss the whole point of feminism and so it was a bit disappointing XD
