I know none of yall probably care because there's no (apparent) other Aussies on here but I'm gonna need some personal space for the next few days.

I know him from his time in england (I think he played for FC Milwall or something) and from the australian nationalteam. He is a really great player and maybe the best australia had for many years. But with 38 years most players retired already, so he can be proud of his career and maybe he will be a good coach, scout or something other in the soccer business in future.

Sad to see him go, but it's probably time. I like the Socceroos, always giving it their best shot, hardly any drama.

Not entirely the right topic. But I’m going to hijack this for some soccer/football news. Watched the European championship soccer for women this weekend. Germany played really well. The Netherlands got lucky with a draw. It still amazes me that the level is so much lower than men’s soccer. In other pro sports the difference is not that big. It’s hard to say why.
