I wasn't sure what to call this thread but this is a thread to post about lucky things that happened to you.

Earlier tonight about two hours ago my mom and I came home after taking our dogs to get their picture taken with Santa and the proceeds went to my local humane society that I volunteer at, and after we got home my dad was worried when he came home in another car after doing something and he realized that he left one of the key fobs on the roof of the car me and my mom were in and he asked my mom if she saw it and she said no. So we drove into the city and around the city a little bit but not very much and then we drove home. My dad was starting to freak out and my mom went in the car to look with him and they even went into town. They came back and didn't find it and I thought I should help them try to find it as it would be getting dark soon and I remembered that I heard a noise like a bump noise when we were almost home on the gravel road and I asked my mom what that was and she said she didn't know. I remembered that and I wondered if the key would be on the road where I heard the bump. When my parents came back I was going to go look too and they went out to look and didn't realize I was walking down the driveway and I told them to come back after they drove out of the driveway again. We drove slowly down the gravel road and I told them where I heard the bump (near a barn down the road) and I was looking on the left side of the road as it was the side where you would have driven on when you're driving to my house and I saw something black and it wasn't it and then we got closer to the barn it was there. I think my dad maybe saw it or I did too but he saw it just before me. So I guess it was lucky for me to have heard the bump noise and remember where I heard it and to think to look for the key there. It is also lucky that the key didn't fall off of the car anywhere in the city or wherever we drove, and it didn't happen until we were almost home. It's also lucky that a car didn't drive over it either as it would be ruined if a car drove over it. It was close to the edge of the road so it was in a good spot I think as people don't drive on the far edge of the road unless someone is coming the other way and you need to move over to allow space for the other car. My dad said key fobs like that can cost $500 to get it replaced. But I don't know if we would've absolutely needed another one as we had two keys.

In October 2015 my dad bought a lottery ticket for a draw here in Canada that was for $43 million and he wasn't feeling good that night and he didn't buy a ticket but he did end up getting one and he said it was good he did afterwards. The next morning my mom checked it and our numbers were the right number for the first 6 numbers and then the 7th number we had was 40 or something and the winning number was 41, so we were 1 number away from winning $43 million. I guess it isn't lucky as we didn't win it but it sort of gave us hope that it can actually happen as we were only one number away from winning. We got only $5,000 or so. For being that close we should've gotten more money.

Several years ago a woman hit me on my bike with her car. Thank God she hit my back wheel, so I only got thrown off my bike and got some scratches. If she would’ve hit me a fraction earlier I at least would have broken some bones, maybe even smashed into the front window shield. So I was really lucky. I also escaped two dangerous situation in traffic jams. One time the person behind me just had enough room to swerve around me instead of smashing into my car. The other time a truck used the emergency lane instead of turning me and my car into a crumbled up piece of metal.
