I think this is the most beautiful and amazing thing God ever created. My grandmother showed it to me a couple months ago and I was amazed, I never really thought about it before... (this could be fake as she saw it on Facebook ) The Atlantic and Pacific oceans never mix. I think that’s amazing. I’m totally tempted to go splash some over XD

(this could be fake as she saw it on Facebook ) The Atlantic and Pacific oceans never mix. I think that’s amazing. I’m totally tempted to go splash some over XD This is true but also not true. The actual true fact is that this DOES exist. Where the bad info begins is in the location. This is NOT where the Atlantic and the Pacific meet. This is taken in the Gulf of Alaska. The difference in the water color is due to glacial rivers emptying out into the ocean. The water does eventually mix into each other and there isn't a permanent line in the water. I still don’t understand Rivers flowing thru glaciers pick up all kinds of minerals and sediment and all kinds of other things while it flows and then the river ends, draining into the ocean. The difference in the waters between the rivers and the ocean causes it to look like that picture, but it eventually mixes together instead of staying 2 different colors. And on a similar note, look up where the two seas meet in Skagen! It's really cool to see the tides in two different directions crashing together

I didn't know this until a 'History' professor/instructor said this during a lecture in a Canadian 'History' course last spring, but St. John's, Newfoundland is closer to London, England than it is to Manitoba (where I live in Canada). I was surprised to hear that. Where I live in Canada is even off of the picture below (I live farther west in Canada than is shown in the below picture).
