We have a lot of art galleries and museums here. My favorite museum is either the museum of dentistry or National Cryptologic Museum. We also have NASA here so they have a rocket garden and it's cool to see all of their old stuff. There's a bunch of old tunnels and abandoned asylums that people I knew in high school used to sneak into because they thought they were haunted. Totally didn't read the first page of this thread and thought we were supposed to list interesting places about where we are from . I'v never heard of Publix before so I don't think we have that. The National Cryptologic Museum sounds like an interesting place! The closest we have to that in the UK is probably Bletchley Park. Up here, we have tonnes of museums. The most interesting one imo is The Hunterian, but the Kelvingrove is probably the most famous. We've got the Necropolis too which is a really cool old graveyard with all these huge mausoleums and weird graves that's really cool to look around-it's based on Pere Lachaise in Paris to give you an idea. Since Glasgow is more of an industrial city rather than Edinburgh which is a touristy city, we don't have a tonne of abandoned buildings or whatever since old land is repurposed pretty fast, so we mostly just have some cool looking buildings here.

Oh, there’s another question, what minimum wage in your world? I think here it’s $7.25 or $7.50 We have five bands of minimum wage in the UK-apprentice, under 16, under 18, 18-20, 21-24, and 25+. For 25+ it's £7.83. A lot of people now are paying the living wage instead of the minimum wage though, which ranges between £7.85 and £9.15 per hour, with the higher number being for London. I get paid £8.75 p/h, which is the living wage for Scotland for example.

So if you went to your average UK high street you'd probably find some combination of these shops
Supermarkets: Tesco (I used to work in one!), Asda (this is owned by the same people as Walmart), Sainsburys, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Waitrose (for the people with money), The Co-op, and then we have some regional specific ones like Booths
Department shops(think like Target style shops, although ours are typically more up market): Marks and Spencers (mostly for old people, although their food is really good too), Debenhams, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, House of Fraser or Frasers, and then some regional specific ones like Fenwicks
Clothing shops: New Look, H&M, Primark, Topshop, River Island, Urban Outfitters, Oasis, Burton/Dorothy Perkins, UNIQLO, Zara, and loads more tbh
Other stores: Flying Tiger (stationery, toiletries, costumes, hobby stuff, and homewares for v cheap), Waterstones (books), Boots (a drug store for you North Americans), The Body Shop, Lush (both are natural toiletries brands), Argos (pretty much everything), Poundland (a shop that sells stuff for £1), Thorntons, Hotel Chocolat (both sell chocolate), Hobbycraft (arts and crafts shop), Currys PC World (tech and white goods)(I also used to work here), Game (astonishingly, games), Sports Direct (sports stuff, one of those fake discounted stores), TK Maxx (literally TJ Maxx but with a different letter because we also have a shop that's the same format called TJ Hughes), WH Smith (newsagents), and Paperchase (stationery)
Restaurants/fast food/cafes: McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, Pizza Express, Zizzis (Italian), Frankie and Benny's ('Italian' but like an American idea of Italian), TGI Fridays ('American'), Wagamama (Japanese), Yo! Sushi, ASK Italian, Nandos (cheeky), Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Cafe Rouge, Wetherspoons (pubs/food/old buildings essentially made into mazes), Starbucks, Costa (also coffee), Pret-A-Manger (coffee/food on the go), Greggs (bakery), Millie's Cookies, Krispy Kreme, Subway, and Barburrito

Bletchley Park was in the movie The Imitation Game! If i'm ever in the UK that would be high up on my list of places to go to. What kind of exhibits does The Hunterian have?

Oh, there’s another question, what minimum wage in your world? I think here it’s $7.25 or $7.50 Wow, that's surprisingly low (to me)! It's $11.15 here where I live in Canada. Isn’t the value of the dollar different in Canada? On the back of books, the U.S price is lower than Canada and when on eBay it has to translate Canadian money into a different amount in U.S dollars

We got a Steak N Shake a few years ago, my parents don’t like it but I love it. It was great at first but now it’s unbelievably slow, it took about an hour to get some milkshakes through the drive thru and we went in there one night and it took at least an hour for meals. The other locations I’m told are slow, I didn’t think that would happen to ours : / anyway, if you have one is it crazy slow? XD

It's at about 0.80 currently or something. I just wish there would be an agreement where the Canadian dollar was on par with the U.S. dollar but that would never happen with Trump. I heard something on the news a few years ago about something like this and I wish it would happen. Then I wouldn't have to worry about the pathetic Canadian dollar and having to pay 30% more or something for anything from the U.S. or in U.S. funds (which is often).

Are your groceries and all more expensive?
