I've been feeling down lately about not seeing or having plans to see Taylor or Harry Styles or Niall Horan on tour...

Mini rant about Taylor
I've adored Taylor and her music since 2009 and this era is making it difficult to continue to do that. The Taylor Tix program seemed like a way to get fans to purchase more merchandise than they normally would plus the merchandise is more expensive than it has ever been. I feel like she was taking advantage of her fans with this because I honestly don't see why past merchandise purchased on Taylor's website couldn't have been used to verify that you were a fan. That's probably one of the reasons they got rid of all the old merchandise. The Taylor Tix program was also a gimmick to increase her video views. It's lame that the program was advertised as defeating scalpers so that we can have access to the best seats at the best price when all of the good seats were so grossly expensive. It sucks that she knows that she'll sell out those expensive tickets regardless of how much she charges. I've seen how the general public has reacted to the ticket program and I feel like it has hurt her public image even further. I guess you could say she's being reckless with her reputation. As far as I know Taylor is the first celebrity to actively engage with fans on social media as much as she does and I can't help but think it's having a negative impact on her younger fanbase. It's giving off the illusion that it's easy to be noticed by Taylor and meet her. I don't think she cares about the negative impact though because as long as people keep reposting her things and talking about her on social media that's free publicity for her. This will probably make things worse with the app. I don't know how the app works yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if you can pay money on there to increase your chances of being noticed by her. With this era and the whole "the old Taylor is dead" theme it feels like her real personality is showing how manipulative she is with the fanbase. I guess I miss her facade personality that she had during her previous eras because now it feels like she low key doesn't even like her fans and sees us as cash cows. That email that Taylor Nation sent out with the picture of her burning money, while telling us that you can spend $100 at her store and get a free gift bag is kind of funny though. I know someone might comment and say that Taylor Swift herself is a buisness, but she's the type of person that would be on top of every decision that goes on in her buisness. Even though I love all of the songs on reputation, she's giving me conflicting feelings about how I feel about her as an artist and how I feel about her as a person in general because the person I adored back in 2009 wasn't like this with fans.

I understand how you feel. I think the Tix Boost thing has its pros and cons. But in general I agree that it seems like it is used to make some extra money, both on tickets and on merch. Plus the forceful way of getting people to view her videos over and over. I'm afraid Taylor's empire has become so big, that she's not on top of every decision anymore. At least she is not going against dodgy ideas and strategies. I also think, in her enthusiasm, she has lost touch with what regular people can afford. It also seems like she is blocking out every form of criticism. I understand that she does that with some media and haters, but the fans also have a right to be heard. At the moment it looks like Taylor and her team prefer people who unconditionally spam that everything she does is the best thing ever, than longtime fans who have a sense of realism. I'm also slightly upset with her musical approach. Reputation is far from her best work. Previously Taylor always went 100% for a flawless album, but Reputation already had a lot of cracks from the start. What probably bothers me most is the "old Taylor is dead" attitude. It's like denying the past and throwing everything and everyone from previous eras overboard. To be fair: I still believe in Taylor and that she hasn't lost it. She's just temporarily a bit off at the moment. I will continue my support for her and I really hope it will all be fine. But to be honest I'm more hanging on to her positive and flawless actions from the past and what she meant to me, than what she actually does at the moment. And subconsciously I'm very scared I might have misjudged her and it will all fall apart soon.

I am not sure I'd say "manipulative" but it's felt to me for a long time that she's resorting to tricks like this to sell more and more things. I am sad the old merchandise is gone because at least it had some imagination to it and looked decent. the stuff in the store now is awful, mostly, with few exceptions. I didn't bother with the ticket boost thing, as I don't intend to go see a tour for an album I don't like, even if the prices for tickets were reasonable, which most don't seem to be. I'm not on the app, and I wouldn't be even if I could. I'm wondering what she'll do if the app actually doesn't turn out to be successful. Whatever happened to her policy of not wanting to charge people ridiculous prices to meet her? or is she still not including a meet and greet with these ridiculous ticket prices? She seems to be forgetting the fans more and more. Not everyone has the money she does.

The old merchandise was better than what she has in the store currently and at least it wasn't quite this expensive. I don't blame you for not seeing the tour since you don't like the album. Oh, that app will definitely be successful. There's no chance of it failing. Tons of Swifties will be throwing their money at her for a chance to be noticed. I'm surprised that she is still sticking with the policy of not charging fans for meet and greets. I would have less of a problem with the prices if they did include meet and greets, but the fact that they don't just makes the prices look more ridiculous.

I hate rosacea. It’s this skin condition that makes your face inflamed and irritated. Have it under control to a degree, but I wish there was a cure and none such exists right now.

I feel conflicted with Taylor too. I felt more upset with her in the '1989' era because I felt like she was getting too cocky. She still is like this, but I don't know why I feel a little bit less about this right now. It makes me laugh when people say not to blame Taylor on ticket prices and tour dates when she's been involved in almost everything in her business thus far, and yet she lets her stupid management or whatever plan a b**lsh*t tour. She's not even touring near me but I didn't even bother with the stupid 'Taylor Swift Tix' thing. What's the point? I still haven't bought any of her new merchandise. I can't afford it. I can't wait for there to be empty seats at Taylor's tour concerts. I think I feel that there will be seats empty. Not everyone can afford to sell a kidney to go to her tour.

Ultimately vip last tour was worth it because of how the catwalk was designed. Since it came right down the middle everyone on the floor had the chance to be very close to her.

I don't remember the row number but I think the stupid VIP tickets were in the first whatever number of rows.

I can relate with you Callie, she isn't near me. she didn't even go to Salt Lake City like she normally does which if I could travel would be the most doable destination.

I meant to say everyone on the floor that had vip was close to her unlike how it is with the reputation tour so vip really doesn't seem worth it compared to last tour. The amount you spent to be a few seats away from the catwalk last tour probably would put you up in the concourses for this tour, which is not right on Taylor's part.

I don't mean to drag my vent out or anything but I had one more thing to say. I wonder how long Taylor actually had this app in mind. Was the whole reason she ever interacted with fans on social media was so that she can build excitement for this app? When she was on Tumblr and Instagram she wasn't actually making money with that so she disappeared from social media and then pops up with this app for the era that she will probably be exclusively interacting on from now on.

I don't know. I find it ironic that you don't hardly ever hear anything about her tv channel anymore, and it was launched with quite a bit of hype too. What I don't think she realizes is that she alienates a lot of the people who stuck with her up until now by doing things like this, and especially with this new attitude. She had impressed me with the way she took time out for her fans in the early days. now she's done a complete turnaround and it's just not nice to see.
