I hate when my classes make us write the intro paragraph to our final essay and submit it as a separate assignment. I understand that it's so my TA's can tell me whether I'm on the right track or not but the same teachers who make us write the intro paragraph also teach us not to write the first or last paragraph until you've written the body paragraph and that is sound advice cause I JUST STARTED THIS PAPER. I don't know how to write 350 words about a topic I don't know about yet.

Now all I have to do is actually write the essay lol (actually this is a lie, I also have a poetry analysis due in this class in two weeks, I can't wait to be done this class).

I suspect that Hillary Clinton will vote for Trump. She definitely doesn’t want Kamala Harris to be the first female president in the US.

What did the Americans do? Tey sold their country to fascism and to someone who only wants power over people and who wants to be the law. Who wants to persecute people with other opinions. The freedom in America, something I thought, every American is proud of, will be gone, probably forever. I think the democracy will be gone in one year, if not earlier. I hope I'm wrong, but it will be a country like Germany in the 1930's and early 1940's. My only dream, that hadn't to do with Taylor, was to visit the USA once, but that dream is dead now, I'll never want to get to a country like that. And why all that racism suddenly? They don't know what they've done with electing him.
Okay, sorry, I know that politics shouldn't be posted here, but I'm completely down because of it, and also I'm worried about that country and especially the people, but also the entire world.

The racism definitely wasn't sudden. I knew Kamala wasn't going to win solely based on Hilary not being able to win. If a white woman can't win then she wasn't going to either. America isn't progressive in that way. Women really don't support other women or themselves. I live in a state that is always blue. We are one of the most racially diverse states yet everyone I know outside of my own family is part of the MAGA cult. It's scary. You mentioned Germany but at least those people had an excuse that I don't think they knew what they were exactly voting for. I saw someone on Twitter say that Jesus himself could have ran and it would have still been a landslide in Trump's favor. I agree with that with how cultish people are. It's going to be crazy in 4 years when he refuses to leave. I'm still holding out hope that the felon gets himself sentenced to jail prior to January, but his vice president is pretty radical too. Why couldn't we have a mentally normal republican option at least for vice president? I do think this is hopefully the end of celebrity political endorsements because they don't mean anything and they shouldn't.

This feels like the start of the end of democracy in the west.

I do think this is hopefully the end of celebrity political endorsements because they don't mean anything and they shouldn't. I agree that the main problem is that it’s the third time in a row both candidates were absolutely terrible. I’m baffled that no one else (a somewhat normal politician) got even close to running. Sadly it’s an international trend. In Europe we have the same problem in most countries. On a positive note: democracy still somewhat works. The previous Trump term showed that it wasn’t nearly as bad as people predicted. To me it’s no surprise that Kamala lost big. She’s the reigning vice-President and has been invisible for the last four years. Also she showed she’s just a puppet reciting political propaganda. Whenever she can’t read a speech off the teleprompter, she has nothing meaningful to say. Not that Trump is so eloquent. But he made clear that he will deal with some issues that are very important to people. I also think, similar to Europe, people are completely fed up with politicians screwing over regular citizens. Woke culture has poisoned society to a level of weakness and insanity, that common sense has been dead and burried. Regular citizens are paying the price for that while Hollywood snobs and other elite are virtue signaling from their mansion. That’s why many voters see the answer in slightly more extreme figures. It’s necessary to take a flamethrower to certain issues to get it back to sanity. If you leave it to the average politician, nothing will change and society will slide downhill even more.

It’s necessary to take a flamethrower to certain issues to get it back to sanity. If you leave it to the average politician, nothing will change and society will slide downhill even more. Democracy worked during his previous term because of our checks and balances system. This time he's going to have the house, senate, and the supreme court. Who's going to check him. Any normal republican that's against him won't do anything out of fear of Trump sending the MAGA cult after them. If he pardons those insurrectionists that's going to send a clear message that if you go against him, he can have you attacked and then pardon the attacker. This is not the way a democracy was meant to be run. It's such a slap in the face of all of us who have ancestors that established this country to escape kings and religion in politics. I understand people who are against woke culture - I am too. I understand the people who don't like the way the economy is (despite Trump's plans for tariffs making this worse). And I understand the people who don't like the illegal immigrants coming over here (even though Biden had more deportations than Trump) and are prospering while us natural born Americans are not. I don't understand the people who want to punish women with the abortions. I've been privileged enough to never experience any president impact my personal life. This president will which is the only reason why I ended up participating in this election despite not liking Harris. My boyfriend and I discussed being married and having our first kid within the next two years. However I'm not willing to risk the potential of a national abortion ban. I'm not going to be one of those people who have a miscarriage and end up in jail because they think I intentionally did it. Or one of those people who deliver a healthy baby and end up still having fetal tissue and the doctors can't remove it because it's technically abortion. Yet my boyfriend (and the rest of the men who all have female relatives/wives/and girlfriends) and all of these uneducated cruel women voted for this. It's disgusting especially since we are the first world country with the highest maternal death rates. Once rights are gone they are going to be gone for a lifetime. I feel like I'm in mourning for this country and any future plans that I had.

I feel like I'm in mourning for this country and any future plans that I had. I agree. Trump having power on more levels this time, is definitely an issue. But I still don’t think it gives him the power to rule like a dictator. As for pardons: true, that some people definitely shouldn’t get amnesty or reinstated. But luckily it probably won’t impact the life of most people. And keep in mind politics is a dirty game anyway. You probably don’t want to know who’s covering each other’s back in a nasty way. Immigration is definitely the main topic in Europe. It has spiraled out of control over decades. It has reached the point you can’t explain it to anyone how devastatingly weak we’ve become. We’ve been flooded with criminals from Africa and the Middle East. Yet nobody has the spine to do something about it and send them back. And if a politician dares to take action, there’s a bunch of devious lawyers and “help” organizations blocking action in court. We’ve seen it recently with the conflict around Israel. Streets in Europe were flooded with Muslim immigrants openly celebrating the slaughter of Israelian aka Western innocent citizens. The left, especially, woke people have their mouth full of liberty and feminism. Yet they turn a blind eye when Muslims openly spew their hate against the West and want to introduce sharia law, which is the most offensive and appalling doctrine against the West, especially Western women. As for abortion. I understand your concern. But from what I’ve heard, they want to leave it up to the States to make laws and policies. So you might not have any issues in your State. And if all fails, move to Europe

I actually think Europe's immigration issues are worse than ours especially with what you described. Yeah our illegals are benefitting financially from taxpayers and commiting crimes but they are not trying to force their culture on people like with the Sharia law so I definitely wouldn't move amongst other reasons.
