This thread was in the old TC and I thought it would great to bring it here. I first heard of Taylor when I heard "Tear Drops On My Guitar" playing on the radio back when I was in high school. I liked it and so I listened to Taylor's other songs and before long I was a swifty.

I just remember taking notice of her when "Picture to Burn" came out. I knew then that she was gonna be huge. When Love Story came out I was hooked and here we are.

I heard Teardrops On My Guitar when it crossed over into mainstream radio. Was not a fan at all. I didn't like her voice. Eventually Love Story came out and I liked that song. Saw the music video for it and loved it. My dad randomly bought Fearless for me one day and the rest is pretty much history. Didn't consider myself a swiftie until the end of the Speak Now era though.

I was aware of who Taylor was, but didn't really follow her music. Then one day I clicked on a video of Faith Hill singing her song "The Way You Love Me" and Taylor was on stage singing with her and so I started following Taylor.

I grew up with music by the Beatles Buddy Holly and Elvis. Later listening to classic rock or alt rock. An anti country suburbanite near Philly. At work (a family business) my younger brother would listen to pop radio. First I heard the hook (and only the hook) from White horse and the name Taylor Swift. The name Taylor Swift I recognized from my AOL screen But into the Spring of 2009 I heard "Love Story". This was great but when "You belong with me" got on the radio, I researched Taylor (videos) and found "Our Song" and "White Horse". "White Horse" video just crushed me. (empathy for crying girls). Now I would buy a cd maybe once in five years, until 2006 when i bought a car with cd player and a broken radio. So go to Best Buys to buy a cd . I found she had two cds. I choose "Fearless". November i'm back to get Platinium and self-titled. in December on ebay i bid on a "Lucky You" cd and won ($160 bargain). In 2010 February 10th I was on TC. I was 62 at the time.

I knew her name and heard some of her songs on the radio, but never really paid attention. One day I was trolling Youtube and bumped into the new Blank Space video. I liked the music and Taylor’s wit. And she looked stunning of course. I looked into her music and personality and slowly became obsessed

I think we were going to the store and 'Tim McGraw' came on the the radio and I fell in love! My mom bought the cd for me when it came out and it's all I played while going to school and in free periods. It was the only cd I took with me for a whole year in high school.

I had been hearing Change and I'm Only Me When I'm With You on Radio Disney (haha I was obsessed!), was liking it... a friend on an online forum posted the music video for Teardrops and weirdly enough I didn't like that?, so I kinda forget about her for a bit but flash forward a couple months, the summer before Fearless was released, and tbh... I looked her up because someone said she was in the Jonas Brother's Burning Up music video hahaha she clearly is not, but I looked at all her music videos and not too long after bought the first album. Then the day Fearless was released I begged my mom to buy it for me, she did, and the rest is history. I literally listened to Fearless about ten months straight lol
