It’s quite sad to hear the news about the passing of the Queen. I think a lot of people in the world are feeling sad today (including me) after hearing his news. I and millions of others had no connection to her, but as I’ve heard (and agree with) by commentators on news channels, she has been a constant for 70 years and she is the only monarch/Queen/King of England that most of us have ever known. It’s the end of an era, which is a sad thing to witness. And that she is like a representation of a grandmother to a lot of people in the world.
My grandma (mom’s mom) was born the same year as Queen Elizabeth II and I think her mom I believe it was came straight from England. So she was somewhat British even though she was born in Canada. She passed away ten years ago and over the past few years when I’ve thought back on it and her, I realized I was a stupid kid and should have visited her more and realized the importance of grandparents more. And realizing that I was too young and stupid to ask her questions and talk to her more (as I realized from Taylor’s release of the song 'Marjorie' - also my grandma’s name).
So the realization of my grandma not being alive and now that somewhat of a representation of her that continued to live on (in Queen Elizabeth II) is now dead, is quite a sad thing. It’s hard to explain my feelings or what a regular person like me may be feeling, but I think most people had a fondness for her. Whether a person liked or didn’t like the monarchy in England, most were fond of her. I was, and I sadly never had any connection to her at all. I remember feeling sad about the loss of Betty White last year because she was also known as an amazing lady and she was like a representation of a lot of people’s grandmothers. So the loss of a person who has always been there and has been a strong constant in the world is very sad. It’s a sad loss for the world. Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth II, and "God Save The Queen"

On another note it makes me happy to hear news commentators talk about how the Queen seemed to love Canada and she visited here often. I remember a photo or photos that were shared on 'Facebook' that were taken in the city I live in and it was of the Queen visiting here for the opening of some part of a university/school. That was back in the 1980’s so at least 10 years before I was even alive. But it’s nice to know she visited where I live before. So there’s some connection to her I guess.

It is very sad that the Queen passed away today. She always conducted herself in a graceful and dignified manner. Great Britain and the world will miss her presence very much. I hope that her and Prince Phillip can now rest peacefully together for eternity.

I almost can't believe it too, but on the other hand, she was 96 years old, so it was clear that it will happen some time. But I always thought she would live forever and I couldn't imagine Great Britain with another king/queen than Elizabeth. She was a great queen and I think the world will miss her. Charles won't have it easy I think, but I wish him all the best and I wish all the best to the queens family, because they're humans like everyone else and will feel bad now, they'll have a hard time now.

Feels surreal that she appointed the UK's new prime minister just two days before she died.

Sad to see her go. But she had a good life up until her last breath. It will take some time to get used to King Charles. I’m not even used to our own King, lol.

I wouldn’t worry about getting used to it much, I think it’ll be King William before too long XD Though Cambridge was a prettier name than Wales, I’m glad that Kate will finally be referred to as a Princess. I remember they got married when I was a little girl in my princess phase and I always assumed she was a princess and William was a prince, and always called her Princess Kate even when I knew she was technically a duchess. It’ll be weird when she’s a queen.

It’ll be weird when she’s a queen. The Princess of Wales title was last used in 1997 with Diana before she died. Camilla didn't use this title and used Duchess of Cornwall instead. I agree about Cambridge being a prettier name than Wales.

I saw in an article earlier today that included a post on 'Twitter' of a person who predicted the Queen's passing date in the summer and he predicted it correctly ( September 8th 2022). And he predicted King Charles's passing date too. Which is in 2026 according to them (four years away)...

Whenever I see coverage on the news on TV about the Queen it makes me sad... Part of me wishes I could be there to experience this part of history. But I've been dreaming of seeing London finally for ten years now...
