is it a puppy? What breed? She’s 3 years old she’s a mixed breed. She was surrender to my sister’s rescue through a vet clinic. Apparently she had eaten an XL t-shirt and it was stuck in her intestines for 6 days. She’s skin and bones, clearly neglected by her old owner. She won’t be for long though. We’ll nurse her right back to health. We’re naming her Ozzy (my sister’s rescue is called “Bark At The Moon” named after the Ozzy Osborne song).

I know that Ozzy is a very fortunate dog. She will receive a lot of TLC in your household!

You would just drag it? Just tow it behind a taxi No, seriously. Don’t go too far. Gradually train your dog to cover longer distances. And don’t feel sorry for it. Dogs need German discipline.

My puppy will not have any German discipline Nothing wrong with showing empathy towards your fellow animal and making their life easier not hard.

As a caretaker of an animal you need to be their brain/master and teach them. If you don’t do that, they don’t know how to behave properly. They’ll keep nagging, destroy your stuff and potentially even become dangerous to you or those around you.

They use a vibrating training collar to get them to focus and then give the command. She knows all the basic commands and how to calm down if she's hyper. She just can't do long distance walking yet which they didn't train for in their puppy courses. However, that can be easily built up to through me gradually training her to it like you said.

I read in a runner’s magazine that dogs don’t have a sense for overheating. Most dogs are not suitable for longer distances. If you do, it’s important to let them rest and drink regularly, especially when it’s warmer.

So let her rest and drink while she's either in a sling or stroller while I keep walking?
