Today was my oldest sister’s birthday and she wanted a strawberry shortcake for her birthday cake just the way our grandma used to make it, of course. Once I took that first bite, I felt like a kid again.

Anywho, yesterday, I got to pet a super sweet doggie. She was just sitting there staring into my eyes just like Lucky would do. She sort of had the same body shape as he did. Felt like I got Lucky back for a second yesterday.

Maybe this sounds silly but I put some effort into my appearance today and I felt good. Instead of a t-shirt, I wore a cute patterned shirt, jean shorts, and white scalloped flats. I also took the time to blow dry my hair and style it instead of letting it air dry. And, of course, a little spritz of perfume always makes me feel better.

I've noticed a number of skateboarding girls skating past my place over the last few weeks. When I was a teen skateboarding was completely male dominated. I approve of this progress.
